That\u2019s a bridge I can\u2019t cross,\u201d the 60-year-old <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/entertainment\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">director<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> said during a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gov-newsom-lifts-calif-lockdown-orders-amid-mounting-backlash\/\" title=\"Gov. Unless I\u2019m paying to see some bizzarro documentary, I\u2019m not paying to see real death. Part of the way that this all works is that it\u2019s all just make believe. That\u2019s why I can stand the violent scenes, cause we\u2019re all just f***ing around.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cSome animal, some dog, some llama, some fly, some rat, doesn\u2019t give a f*** about your movie,\u201d Tarantino continued. \u201cI\u2019d kill a million rats, but I don\u2019t necessarily want to kill one in a movie or see one killed in a movie, because I\u2019m not paying to see real death.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cAlmost always, it\u2019s not just the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/violence\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">violence<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> that I have a problem with,\u201d he said. \u201cThere\u2019s usually an incompetence factor in there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The \u201cKill Bill\u201d director is frequently questioned about explicit violence in his films. Tarantino famously refused to answer the question following a Channel 4 News interview while promoting the movie \u201cDjango Unchained\u201d in 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cDon\u2019t ask me a question like that \u2013 I\u2019m not biting. I refuse your question,\u201d he replied when interviewer Krishnan Guru-Murthy asked if he was sure there\u2019s no link between movie violence and real violence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cBecause I refuse your question. I\u2019m not your slave and you\u2019re not my master. You can\u2019t make me dance to your tune. I\u2019m not a monkey,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tarantino had previously promised to retire by age 60, which would be now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI like the idea of giving it my all for 30 years and then saying, \u2018OK, that\u2019s enough.\u2019 And I don\u2019t like working to diminishing returns. And I mean, now is a good time because I mean, what even is a motion picture anyway anymore? Is it just something that they show on Apple? That would be diminishing returns,\u201d he told <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2023\/05\/quentin-tarantino-retirement-james-bond-tv-cannes-1235379761\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Deadline<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> in May 2023.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b data-stringify-type=\"bold\"><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI mean, and I\u2019m not picking on anybody, but apparently for Netflix, Ryan Reynolds has made $50 million on this movie and $50 million on that movie and $50 million on the next movie for them. I don\u2019t know what any of those movies are. I\u2019ve never seen them.
