The \u2018Who, What, and Why\u2019 of Scott Smith and His Daughter\u2019s Rape\">opposite-sex bathrooms<\/a> and locker rooms, protect the integrity of female sports by preventing the infiltration of males, limit LGBT books with pornographic content, and stop children from being subjected to sexual drag performances.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe state of Wisconsin taxpayers provides funding to support Dane County, its municipalities, and its school districts,\u201d <strong>state Rep. Scott Allen<\/strong> told The Federalist. \u201cAs long as the legislature has the power of the purse, it would be my intention as a legislator to exercise that power to the fullest extent possible to prevent rogue counties from doing their own thing.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m totally with <strong>Scott Allen<\/strong>, and I\u2019m pretty sure the entire Republican caucus on the Republican side is, too,\u201d said <strong>Rep. Patrick Snyder<\/strong>. \u201cBesides funding public schools, [the legislature] also controls shared revenue, so that\u2019s another area where we could squeeze the purse of Dane County and Madison.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-bb0ead95ef5bd423498ef502fb0d5f20 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-bb0ead95ef5bd423498ef502fb0d5f20\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>Rep. Barbara Dittrich<\/strong>, who represents a portion of Dane County, concurred, telling The Federalist, \u201cI have a problem with any county saying that they wouldn\u2019t uphold the rule of law.\u201d Dittrich added that if Dane County disagrees with the state law, it needs to use \u201cthe already prescribed constitutional methods.\u201d For example, Republicans\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpr.org\/wisconsin-supreme-court-strikes-down-statewide-mask-mandate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">appealed<\/a>\u00a0to the Wisconsin Supreme Court to strike down Gov. Tony Evers\u2019 unconstitutional statewide mask mandate.<\/p>\n<p>The lawmakers told The Federalist that as of now, there is nothing on the books that Dane County\u2019s resolution would oppose, but that might change. Allen told The Federalist he plans to reintroduce legislation that would protect minors from mutilative surgeries, wrong-sex hormones, and puberty blockers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Allen went on to reference long-term studies on those who have undergone transgender surgeries, with one showing \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3043071\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">strikingly high<\/a>\u201d rates of death by suicide among this population. \u201cThat\u2019s why you see countries like Sweden backing off \u2014 and they were one of the early adopters of this gender-transition movement,\u201d Allen said. \u201cSo it\u2019s time for us to have that wisdom, as well, and allow children a chance to mature.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWisconsin\u2019s age of consent is 18,\u201d Snyder pointed out, adding that it is \u201cbarbaric\u201d to perform transgender surgeries on minors whose brains are not yet fully developed.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-89bc036bebb690d2941b6b8942c1b413 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-89bc036bebb690d2941b6b8942c1b413\"><\/div>\n<p>Dittrich said she will be introducing legislation to promote parental oversight at public schools, citing specifically her concerns over an incident that occurred at Sun Prairie East High School, an institution within the assembly district bordering her own. Dittrich\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpr.org\/wisconsin-supreme-court-strikes-down-statewide-mask-mandate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">explained<\/a>\u00a0that last March, a transgender-identifying senior student exposed his male genitalia to four freshman 14-year-old girls in the school\u2019s locker room showers. <\/p>\n<p>\u201c[The trans agenda is] absolutely harming children,\u201d Dittrich said. \u201cWe are going to look back on this just like we\u2019re looking back on Covid now and go, \u2018Look at how we damaged our kids.\u2019 It\u2019s unconscionable.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f8a096969404010f41c118daee01152f fdrlst__b89e9-after-post-content\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-f8a096969404010f41c118daee01152f\"><\/div>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">    \t\t\t\t\t   \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dane County, Wisconsin, plans to become a sanctuary for trans and nonbinary individuals, making it a safe haven.
