You will soon see TMall, which is a well-known platform in China, become TMall in Europe. This means we will cater to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/coca-cola-hbc-flags-one-time-195-million-hit-from-russian-operations\/\" title=\"Coca-Cola HBC flags one-time 5 million hit from Russian operations\">local brands<\/a> and customers in their respective markets,\u201d said J. Michael Evans at a technology conference in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cWe have already initiated a pilot project in Spain, which we plan to expand across Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In March, Alibaba announced its decision to split into six units and explore fundraising or listings for most of them, following a regulatory crackdown on China\u2019s tech sector. <\/p>\n<p>The company&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/disney-closing-60-bricks-and-mortar-stores\/\" title=\"Disney Closing 60 Bricks-And-Mortar Stores\">e-commerce business<\/a> will be divided, with one side focusing on Alibaba&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/alibaba-aims-to-expand-local-business-in-europe-president-says\/\" title=\"Alibaba president targets European business expansion.\">domestic-facing e-commerce marketplaces<\/a> and the other on its overseas e-commerce marketplaces, such as Lazada, which serves Southeast Asia, and AliExpress. <\/p>\n<p>Taobao and TMall are the dominant e-commerce marketplaces in China.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about Alibaba founder Jack Ma, J. Michael Evans confirmed that Ma remains the company&#8217;s largest shareholder and is still deeply invested in its success.<\/p>\n<p>Evans stated, \u201cJack is alive, well, and happy. He is currently teaching at a university in Tokyo and spending more time in China.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cThis is his company, and he cares about it just as much as he did when he started it.
