But its generals, lieutenants, and foot soldiers in the \u201crainbow mafia,\u201d as it\u2019s called, have started a war they will not win.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, in Ottawa, Canada, a boy stomped on the pride flag, while Muslim parents chanted, \u201cLeave our kids alone!\u201d This week, outside the offices of the Ottawa Carleton School Board, Muslim parents, community members, and children held signs that read, \u201cLeave the Kids Alone,\u201d with the interfaith crowd chanting, \u201cThe people united will never be defeated.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>This is only the beginning.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are one nation, under God.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Muslims were joined by Christians and Jews at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board to protest and push back against the indoctrination of children in schools.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/LeaveOurKidsAlone?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#LeaveOurKidsAlone<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/K2VAQZ9gFa\">pic.twitter.com\/K2VAQZ9gFa<\/a><\/p>\n<p><cite>Dacey Media (@chrisdacey) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/chrisdacey\/status\/1668700980253274113?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 13, 2023<\/a><\/cite>\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Every time activists and educrats assure parents that the LGBT movement is about \u201ctolerance,\u201d we find evidence that the movement and its fellow travelers have transformed it into something menacing and intolerant. With little warning and a lot of obtuseness meant to keep parents in the dark, gay and trans propaganda has made its way into the classrooms of children as young as 3 years old, and teachers, educrats, activists, and politicians \u2014 from the United States to Canada \u2014 are attempting to enforce allegiance to extremism with bullying, intimidation, and character assassination.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, Wassim Fayed, the planning commissioner of Sammamish, Washington, and a local <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetop100magazine.com\/wassim-fayed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lebanese American restaurant owner<\/a>, had to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.king5.com\/article\/news\/local\/lgbtq\/sammamish-commissioner-wassim-fayed-resigns-anti-lgbtq-remarks\/281-1d92945e-e371-4f62-bbad-4134288052dd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">resign<\/a> after he said at a June 1 meeting, marking the first day of pride month, that \u201cas a Muslim person,\u201d he rejected discriminating against anyone who is gay but he also believed that LGBT ideologues were promoting \u201cinfestation in the minds of our children in our schools.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s be clear: The goal of the rainbow mafia isn\u2019t to teach tolerance. The goal is to indoctrinate our children into accepting a \u201cgender-fluid\u201d world \u2014 a world that demands you deny the reality of biological sex; that presumes schools and activists are better placed to make life-changing decisions about a child\u2019s identity than are parents; a world where, before kids can even read, they are often groomed to question their sex under the premise that their parents have been lying to them all this time.<\/p>\n<p>If you are skeptical this is happening, here are some recent headlines from the culture wars.<\/p>\n<h3>Parents Revolt Nationwide<\/h3>\n<p>At a Wednesday school board meeting in Granby, Connecticut, parents <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ctpublic.org\/news\/2023-06-07\/granby-parents-meet-with-school-board-to-discuss-pride-video-shown-in-school\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">expressed alarm<\/a> that teachers showed local elementary school students an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=-LR9pu9tEOw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NBC \u201cUniversal Kids\u201d video<\/a> with really young, squeaky-voiced children of about 5 discussing gender identity. The school system also sent children home with a \u201cpuberty kit.\u201d The video showed \u201cshe\/her\u201d next to a girl\u2019s name, a boy discussing how he identifies outside the so-called gender binary, and kids waving pride flags. Parents are understandably furious.<\/p>\n<p>All over the nation, from <a href=\"https:\/\/fairfaxschoolsmonitor.com\/fairfax-parents-excluded-from-kids-gender-issues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fairfax County, Virginia,<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deseret.com\/opinion\/2023\/4\/18\/23687209\/washington-transgender-care-bill-parental-rights\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Seattle, Washington,<\/a> school districts have adopted policies that purposely hide the gender musings of children from parents under the guise of providing \u201csafe spaces.\u201d Indeed, in Fargo Public Schools in North Dakota, where the practice of keeping parents in the dark was outlawed, Superintendent Rupak Gandhi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.valleynewslive.com\/2023\/05\/10\/fargo-public-schools-superintendent-speaks-out-recent-lgbtq-related-legislation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recently declared<\/a> he would disobey the law because telling parents about their kids\u2019 trans longings would mean administrators would \u201copenly out\u201d children. The creepy presumptuousness of this is breathtaking. Lawsuits have followed, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhpr.org\/education\/2023-04-28\/nh-supreme-court-case-could-influence-school-policies-on-transgender-students\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">one<\/a> by the parent of a student in Manchester, New Hampshire, who says the policy violates her inalienable right to make such decisions for her children.<\/p>\n<p>In Maryland\u2019s Montgomery County Public Schools, parents objecting to gender instruction of their elementary school kids seemed to have won a reprieve with a choice to opt their kids out of gender and sexuality curriculum they considered age-inappropriate. But in late March, the school district abruptly changed its mind, sending parents <a href=\"https:\/\/ww2.montgomeryschoolsmd.org\/departments\/publicinfo\/community\/school-year-2022-2023\/Community-Update-20230323.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an email<\/a> that it was ending the opt-out program and enraging many parents, large numbers of them Muslim. In a <a href=\"https:\/\/becketnewsite.s3.amazonaws.com\/20230524130022\/Complaint-in-Mahmoud-v.-McKnight.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawsuit<\/a>, they say such instruction conflicts with their religious values and usurps their rights as parents.<\/p>\n<p>The parents, mostly nonwhite immigrants, <a href=\"https:\/\/asrainvestigates.substack.com\/p\/muslim-parents-deal-wokearmy-a-lethal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">showed up<\/a> in large numbers at a noisy protest organized last week by a new parent group, <a href=\"http:\/\/coalitionofvirtue.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Coalition of Virtue<\/a>, rallying outside the school district\u2019s offices in Rockville, Maryland, and outnumbering the people who favor this nonsense by 25 to 1. Who was on the other side of Hungerford Drive, waving rainbow flags and calling the parents haters? Mostly privileged, woke white women, one of them ironically carrying a bullhorn with a sticker on it that read, \u201cFight for those without your privilege.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018AuntyFa\u2019 and Pride Month Narcissism<\/h3>\n<p>If the woke white women \u2014 whom I call \u201cAuntyFa\u201d \u2014 were looking for the actual haters and bigots, well, they only had to check the mirror. The wheels are coming off the woke bus because it is built on lies and deceit.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the bottom line: Pride month, which began as a legitimate outpouring of a group that certainly was once marginalized, has become an exercise in narcissistic overload with consequences for our children. I support same-sex marriage, fight for Muslim countries to expunge anti-gay crime laws, and seek equality for all. However, \u201cpride\u201d is now about enforced approbation \u2014 you will bow down or you will be excoriated, canceled, and shamed. There\u2019s a bully here \u2014 and it\u2019s not us.<\/p>\n<p>Just listen to how a teacher at Londonderry Junior High School in Edmonton, Canada, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/5Pillarsuk\/status\/1666005283909386240?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">scolded Muslim children<\/a> as young as 12 who didn\u2019t go to school for pride celebrations on June 1, as the rainbow flag flew over schools for pride month. If they didn\u2019t agree with pro-LGBT policies, she said: \u201cYou can\u2019t be Canadian. You don\u2019t belong here. And I mean it. I really mean it. \u2026 It just makes me angry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Check out almost any kindergarten class in any blue state and a surprising number of red ones, and it\u2019s a good bet you\u2019ll find pride flags in the classrooms. The argument is that no reasonable person could object. The lessons around the flags are, again, merely about teaching \u201ctolerance and inclusion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We might believe that if we hadn\u2019t unearthed so many examples of activist teachers and school districts acting in stealth to impose their one-side views of the sexes and sexuality on our kids.<\/p>\n<h3>A Better Approach<\/h3>\n<p>Parents aren\u2019t making a mountain out of a molehill over these issues. At heart, this is an existentialist argument between leftists with a collectivist view that they absolutely know what\u2019s best for kids and have a right to impose their \u201cbest\u201d upon them. On the other side are parents who recoil at this very notion and refuse to surrender their parental authority and responsibility to the collectivist state.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, there\u2019s a middle ground. The vast majority of parents have no objections to age-appropriate discussions of sex so long as the discussions stick to science and offer balance and perspective. Sex ed has been taught in U.S. public schools for generations with very little controversy, but that\u2019s because sex ed stuck to basic sexual biology and the prudence of safe sex to prevent diseases and pregnancy.<\/p>\n<p>If a fictional student named Mary thinks she is Bob, what Mary needs first of all is counseling. And if Mary is first expressing her longings to her teacher, her teacher\u2019s obligation is to rope in the parents, period. Imagine a slightly different scenario: Mary is having trouble with math, but the teacher \u2014 not wishing to \u201cout\u201d her and embarrass her \u2014 withholds that knowledge from the parents. That would amount to educational malfeasance. When it comes to sex, hiding the issue from parents makes malfeasance exponential.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s another possible solution. How about the adult members of the LGBT crowd help us in this fight and stand with parents on the age-appropriate and balance issues? Surely it can\u2019t be lost on gay folks that the trans movement is at its heart anti-gay. That is, a vast number of kids being herded toward changing their bodies through surgery and drugs would simply turn out to be gay if the journey led through counseling and approbation of their natural selves. An unavoidable conclusion is that the trans movement sees something intrinsically wrong with that \u2014 that being gay is bad.<\/p>\n<p>Why, parents ask, would gay people go along with that?<\/p>\n<p>The backlash to the woke army is real, and woke activists and educrats would be well-served by listening to parents.
