He also touched on key campaign issues, such as the imposition of transgender ideology on American children.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Yesterday was a sad day in the life of this nation. I mean, literally, to see a former president of the United States in the dock and face charges in a criminal indictment, I think is deeply discouraging to millions of Americans,&#8221; Pence said, acknowledging the seriousness of the charges against Trump. However, he emphasized that everyone is innocent until proven guilty and that the president deserves his day in court.<\/p>\n<h3>Restoring Confidence in the Justice System<\/h3>\n<p>Pence highlighted the backdrop of &#8220;years of politicization in the Department of Justice&#8221; and expressed his belief that politics may have played a role in the case against Trump.
