Great Awakening or Great Reset?\">congressional hearings<\/a> to investigate whether Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has been neglecting his duties. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/doj-investigates-google-maps-for-antitrust-abuses\/\" title=\"DOJ Investigates Google Maps for Antitrust Abuses\">investigation focuses<\/a> on Mayorkas&#8217; handling of the nation&#8217;s border during President Joe Biden&#8217;s 2 1\/2 years in office.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;This is not a case of negligence. If it were, the implications would be different. The remedy would be different,&#8221; Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC) said during the hearing. &#8220;Intentional sabotage of the rule of law is something entirely different. It is an affront to the separation of powers to the institutional authority of the Congress, under the Constitution, and it invites another remedy \u2014 and that is impeachment.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), a member of the House Freedom Caucus, echoed Bishop&#8217;s sentiments and called for Mayorkas to be impeached.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman Mark Green (R-TN) <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-use-investigative-hearing-as-launch-pad-to-mayorkas-impeachment\/\" title=\"Republicans leverage investigative hearing to initiate Mayorkas impeachment.\">avoided discussing impeachment<\/a> and instead focused on how Mayorkas had changed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-flees-podium-without-answering-questions-after-delivering-remarks-in-delaware-video\/\" title=\"Biden Flees Podium without Answering Questions After Delivering Remarks in Delaware (VIDEO)\">immigration policies<\/a> in his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/portland-mayor-ted-wheeler-is-finally-figuring-out-he-cant-appease-antifa-rioters-video\/\" title=\"Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler Is Finally Figuring Out He Can\u2019t Appease Antifa Rioters (VIDEO)\">opening remarks<\/a>, line of questioning, and closing statements.<\/p>\n<p>Green emphasized that these hearings aim to uncover the truth, but Democrats have criticized Republicans for already having made up their minds on the matter.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;The GOP has noticed a bogus &#8216;investigatory&#8217; hearing into @SecMayorkas that they are comically calling a &#8216;Closed Case,'&#8221; tweeted Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS), the ranking member on the committee, condemned the hearing as a sham, stating, &#8220;Calling a hearing and saying &#8216;case closed&#8217; before you\u2019ve heard any testimony is not legitimate oversight.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Thompson further expressed his belief that Republicans had already decided to move towards impeachment months ago.<\/p>\n<p>Republicans initially regained control of the House in January and focused their efforts on passing a comprehensive set of bills to strengthen border and immigration policies. Although the legislation passed in a House vote, it was ultimately blocked in the Senate due to the Democrats&#8217; majority.<\/p>\n<p>Rep.
