According to Republican lawmakers who viewed the document in a secure room on Capitol Hill, the document from a <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/3986605-republicans-subpoena-fbi-for-document-alleging-unspecified-criminal-scheme-involving-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">credible<\/a> confidential informant contains evidence President Biden took a $5 million-dollar bribe from a \u201cforeign national.\u201d That foreign national, Iowa Sen. Biden\u2019s Republican predecessor and lead contender for the GOP\u2019s 2024 presidential nomination surrendered to federal officials Tuesday, giving Biden something in common with Russian President Vladimir Putin: both of their chief political opponents are under arrest.<\/p>\n<p>Was last week\u2019s timing a coincidence? Not if you see the latest episode in the arrest-Trump movement for what it is: the natural continuation of the failed Russia hoax eight years ago.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Brinkmanship For Biden <\/h2>\n<p>FBI Director Wray was on the cusp of contempt charges last week when the agency chief relented to House Republicans and brought the requested document to Capitol Hill for every member of the Oversight Committee to review.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-028609201a0bd1b817536d92fa3b6012 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-6\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-028609201a0bd1b817536d92fa3b6012\"><\/div>\n<p>A whistleblower first revealed the existence of the document to Senator Grassley and House Oversight Chairman James Comer of Kentucky more than a month ago. The pair of top GOP lawmakers issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/03\/biden-implicated-in-bribery-scheme-grassley-and-comer-allege-in-new-subpoena-demand-to-fbi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">subpoena<\/a> for the unclassified form on May 3.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe the FBI possesses an unclassified internal document that includes very serious and detailed allegations implicating the current President of the United States,\u201d Grassley said. \u201cWhat we don\u2019t know is what, if anything, the FBI has done to verify these claims or investigate further. The FBI\u2019s recent history of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-implicated-in-bribery-scheme-grassley-and-comer-allege-in-new-subpoena-demand-to-fbi\/\" title=\"Biden accused of bribery in new subpoena to FBI.\">botching politically charged investigations demands close congressional oversight<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Wray initially refused lawmakers\u2019 request and withheld the document from Capitol Hill. In a six-page <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/05\/FBI-Response-to-Subpoena-2023-05-10.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">letter<\/a> to Congress, the bureau argued the document was insignificant and that disclosure would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-indictment-timeline-reeks-of-deep-state-information-operation\/\" title=\"Trump Indictment Timeline Suggests Deep State Information Operation\">compromise \u201cconfidential human\u201d informants<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If Comer wanted to see it, the agency later <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/minutes\/congress\/05-31-2023\/fbi-offer-for-comer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>, he would have to travel to the FBI headquarters on Pennsylvania Avenue.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-342f25ef769adef1d44be0e8a5dc05c1 fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-10\" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-342f25ef769adef1d44be0e8a5dc05c1\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cAnything short of producing these documents to the House Oversight Committee is not in compliance with the subpoena,\u201d Comer\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/31\/fbi-director-wray-threatened-with-contempt-over-stonewalling-republican-oversight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">warned<\/a> in May.<\/p>\n<p>The FBI director then allowed Comer to review the document with Maryland Democrat Rep. Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the Oversight Committee, in a Capitol SCIF.<\/p>\n<p>Raskin tried to dismiss Republican accusations with a <a href=\"https:\/\/oversightdemocrats.house.gov\/news\/press-releases\/ranking-member-raskin-s-statement-following-review-of-debunked-fbi-tip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a> alleging the investigation had been shut down under Attorney General Bill Barr during the Trump administration. The House Oversight Chairman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/fbi-christopher-wray-contempt-of-congress-james-comer-house-oversight-committee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">canceled<\/a> the resolution to hold Wray in contempt on Wednesday, June 7, on the eve of Trump\u2019s indictment. The contempt resolution was abandoned when Wray allowed the rest of the Oversight Committee to review the document.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, Wray ran out the clock as the Justice Department prepared to issue the first-ever federal indictment of a former president.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Document Shows Exactly What Grassley, Comer Said It Would<\/h2>\n<p>Wray attempted to bury the news in Trump\u2019s indictment as Comer previewed the blockbuster allegations that would surface from the FBI record. Once members of the Oversight Committee emerged from the SCIF on Capitol Hill, GOP lawmakers confirmed the document as the bombshell Comer and Grassley said it was.<\/p>\n<p>Republican Reps. Byron Donalds of Florida and Andy Biggs of Arizona <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/congress\/house-republicans-attack-biden-family-viewing-fbi-document-rcna88413\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told<\/a> NBC News the allegations were legitimate and said the human source for the document has been on FBI payroll for years.<\/p>\n<p>Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna said the document was grounds for impeachment. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very likely this president is going to be impeached \u2014 and by that I mean Joe Biden,\u201d Luna <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/therecount\/status\/1667165024270565376?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Colorado Republican Rep.
