Edwards was among three women ordained with the title of pastor at Saddleback in May 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Church representatives also voted 9,700-806 to deny an appeal by Fern Creek Baptist Church, which has had Linda Barnes Popham in the pastor\u2019s role for three decades but came under heightened scrutiny this year.<\/p>\n<p>Warren and Popham made their final appeals to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/op-ed-unbelievable-racial-challenge-issued-southern-baptist-convention\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Southern Baptists<\/a> on Tuesday during the denomination\u2019s annual meeting.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Here\u2019s the debate between Rick Warren and Albert Mohler about Saddleback\u2019s removal from the SBC.
