The report, compiled by Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi, and Alex Gutentag, cites anonymous U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/leaked-email-alleges-arizona-gov-elect-katie-hobbs-twitter-employees-colluded-to-censor-election-related-misinformation\/\" title=\"Leaked Email Alleges Arizona Gov-Elect Katie Hobbs, Twitter Employees Colluded To Censor \u2018Election Related Misinformation\u2019\">government officials involved<\/a> in the origin investigation.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAccording to multiple U.S. government officials interviewed as part of a lengthy investigation by Public and Racket, the first people infected by the virus, \u2018patients zero,\u2019 included Ben Hu, a researcher who led the WIV\u2019s \u2018gain-of-function\u2019 research on SARS-like coronaviruses, which increases the infectiousness of viruses,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The journalists identified researchers Ben Hu, Yu Ping, and Yan Zhu as \u201cpatients zero.\u201d Hu worked closely with Shi Zhengli, known as \u201cthe bat woman of China,\u201d who led the gain-of-function research at the WIV.<\/p>\n<h3>U.S. Government to Release Classified Material on Virus Origin<\/h3>\n<p>Directorate of National Intelligence is expected to release once<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-special-master-reveals-new-plan-after-appeals-court-ruling\/\" title=\"Trump Special Master Reveals New Plan After Appeals Court Ruling\">-classified material<\/a> on the virus\u2019 origin later this month that may include the names of the three researchers. Earlier this year, President Joe Biden signed a bill that calls for the release of the names and roles of the sick researchers at the WIV, their symptoms, and date of symptom onset, and whether these researchers had been involved with or exposed to coronavirus research.<\/p>\n<h3>COVID-19 as a Chinese Military Bioweapon?<\/h3>\n<p>State Department investigators probing the origins of COVID are highly suspicious of the People\u2019s Liberation Army\u2019s role at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV). The Chinese military partnered with the lab to experiment with viruses in 2016 after the lab started to have some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/patients-zero-were-wuhan-lab-researchers-working-on-coronavirus-gain-of-function-journalists-say\/\" title=\"Wuhan lab researchers working on coronavirus gain-of-function were 'Patients Zero', say journalists.\">success mutating pathogens<\/a>. The new reports run counter to what Dr. Anthony Fauci said just this past February when he expressed doubt about the origin of the virus.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t see any data for a lab leak.
