Ramaswamy specifically named Garland and special prosecutor Jack Smith, who brought the charges against Trump.<\/p>\n<div class=\"video_fit_container\">\n\t\t<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"671\" height=\"377\" class=\"video_frame\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OjkYnXEFMyg?wmode=transparent&#038;wmode=opaque\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\t<\/div>\n<p>Ramaswamy, who is trailing far behind Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, also announced that if he is elected, he will pardon Trump if he\u2019s convicted. \u201cI\u2019m running to win this election &#038; it\u2019d be easier for me if Trump were eliminated from running, but that is not the right answer for our nation. America First Always.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>FOIA Request Seeks Access to DOJ Records<\/h3>\n<p>The FOIA request seeks access to \u201cany records\u201d belonging to the DOJ, including electronic communications between the DOJ and non-government third-parties. Under a federal statute, federal agencies are mandated to respond to a FOIA request within 20 business days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf the captured media fails to do its job, real leaders in this country need to step up and do it instead,\u201d Ramaswamy said. <\/p>\n<h3>Trump\u2019s Indictment<\/h3>\n<p>Trump faces 37 counts related to the mishandling of classified documents, including 31 counts under an Espionage Act statute pertaining to the willful retention of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-biden-rips-trump-for-doing-the-same-thing-the-obama-administration-did\/\" title=\"Joe Biden Rips Trump For Doing The Same Thing The Obama Administration Did\">national defense information<\/a>. The charges also include counts of obstructing justice and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sidney-powell-is-an-american-legal-giant\/\" title=\"Sidney Powell Is an American Legal Giant\">making false statements<\/a>, among other crimes.<\/p>\n<p>According to the court papers, Trump is accused of keeping documents related to \u201cnuclear weaponry in the United States\u201d and the \u201cnuclear capabilities of a foreign country,\u201d along with documents from White House intelligence briefings, including some that detail the military capabilities of the U.S. and other countries.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors allege Trump showed off the documents to people who did not have security clearances to review them and later tried to conceal documents from his own lawyers as they sought to comply with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/no-future-for-corporate-simps-how-the-gop-can-fight-back\/\" title=\"No Future For Corporate Simps: How The GOP Can Fight Back\">federal demands<\/a> to find and return documents. Trump could face 20 years in prison, if convicted.<\/p>\n<p>It came after a Trump representative told the National Archives in December 2021 that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-january-6-committee-threatens-to-hold-trumps-chief-of-staff-mark-meadows-in-contempt-of-congress\/\" title=\"BREAKING: January 6 Committee Threatens To Hold Trump\u2019s Chief Of Staff Mark Meadows In Contempt Of Congress\">presidential records<\/a> had been found at Mar-a-Lago.
