This horrifying report certainly calls into question whether platforms like Instagram should <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/ted-cruz-grills-mark-zuckerberg-over-alleged-instagram-pedophile-network\/\" title=\"Ted Cruz questions Zuckerberg on Instagram pedophile network.\">continue receiving civil liability immunity<\/a> in cases where the design of their own systems proactively facilitates illegal and harmful activity,\u201d Cruz said in a statement to The Daily Wire.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Texas Senator <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/ted-cruz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ted Cruz<\/a> has sent a letter to Meta CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/mark-zuckerberg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mark Zuckerberg<\/a> demanding answers from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/facebook-bans-gop-account-allows-inflammatory-dnc-ads\/\" title=\"Facebook bans GOP account, allows inflammatory DNC ads\">social media giant<\/a> in relation to the bombshell report last week accusing Instagram of facilitating a \u201cvast pedophile network.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cruz, the ranking member on the Senate Commerce Committee, said in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.commerce.senate.gov\/services\/files\/1CEAE1E3-2AA0-44F7-B54F-FB9F9B79FC1D\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">letter<\/a> that he intended to investigate the report and requested documentation regarding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/meta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meta<\/a>\u2019s handling of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/second-minor-sues-twitter-over-sex-trafficking-on-social-media-site\/\" title=\"Second Minor Sues Twitter Over Sex Trafficking On Social Media Site\">child sexual abuse material<\/a> that made its way onto Instagram, which is owned by Meta.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Instagram\u2019s Alleged Facilitation of Pedophile Network<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The letter was written in response to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/instagram-vast-pedophile-network-4ab7189\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report from The Wall Street Journal<\/a> alongside researchers at Stanford University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst that said that Instagram allowed and promoted accounts that openly purchased and commissioned \u201cunderage-sex content.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Accounts on Instagram have posted \u201cmenus\u201d that offered inappropriate content, including \u201cimagery of the minor performing sexual acts with animals,\u201d according to researchers from the Stanford Internet Observatory.
