America First Legal has a solution: remind them of their legal obligation to their shareholders and threaten them if necessary.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">\/1BREAKING: Today, on behalf of our client, the <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NationalCenter?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@NationalCenter<\/a> \u2014 a Target shareholder \u2014 we demanded <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Target?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@Target<\/a> produce its books and records regarding its reckless LGBT political agenda that has apparently cost the corporation over $12 billion in market valuation.<\/p>\n<p>THREAD<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 America First Legal (@America1stLegal) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/America1stLegal\/status\/1666085203155251202?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June 6, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>America First Legal is representing a Target stockholder and demanding to see Target&#8217;s books and records regarding the retailer&#8217;s LGBT marketing to children. AFL sent a letter to the Target board on behalf of the National Center for Public Policy Research, a Target stockholder, reminding them of their fiduciary duties and threatening legal action if necessary.<\/p>\n<h3>Target&#8217;s Reckless LGBT Political Agenda<\/h3>\n<p>Target&#8217;s 2022 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission stated that &#8220;the company&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/washington-post-dhs-mayorkas-to-restart-partial-remain-in-mexico-policy\/\" title=\"Washington Post: DHS Mayorkas to Restart Partial 'Remain in Mexico' Policy\">core customer base<\/a> is &#8216;families'&#8221; and that &#8220;management recognized &#8230; the serious risk to the company&#8217;s financial prospects if that core customer base were to have a negative perception of the corporation.&#8221; Despite those risks, Target has been involved in &#8220;marketing overtly sexualized LGBT-themed product to young children in the hopes of scoring points in the culture wars &#8230; at the expense of Target&#8217;s core customer base \u2014 and thus at the expense of the company&#8217;s financial success.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>AFL&#8217;s letter to the Target board includes pictures of LGBT children&#8217;s merchandise the retail giant has offered and describes T-shirts emblazoned with &#8220;Trans people will always exist!&#8221; and &#8220;Girls Gays Theys.&#8221; In the children&#8217;s section, mind you. Target has also been selling LGBT-themed &#8220;onesies, bibs, and overalls aimed at newborns and toddlers.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then there&#8217;s the explicitly satanic link to Target&#8217;s &#8220;pride&#8221; products. Of course, much of this you&#8217;ve heard about, including the ensuing backlash, but the AFL letter goes into detail \u2014 maybe more detail than you care to deal with.<\/p>\n<h3>AFL Takes Action<\/h3>\n<p>Thankfully, AFL is holding Target to account. Using Minnesota law regarding corporate records, it&#8217;s demanding to see Target&#8217;s books and internal communications to determine the accurate value of its client&#8217;s stock and to &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gross-misrepresentation-new-york-lawmaker-says-he-was-lied-to-about-homeless-veterans-being-displaced-by-migrants\/\" title=\"NY Lawmaker: Homeless Veterans Displaced by Migrants, a 'Gross Misrepresentation'\">investigate potential misconduct<\/a> and\/or breaches of fiduciary duties&#8221; by the corporation. Refusal by Target to turn over records means AFL&#8217;s client &#8220;reserves its right to file an action compelling compliance and to pursue all of its other legal and equitable remedies,&#8221; the letter said.<\/p>\n<p>AFL&#8217;s action provides a good example of a strategy to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/targets-bad-news-piles-up-as-company-served-with-legal-letter-demanding-books-and-records\/\" title=\"Target faces legal action demanding access to company records.\">thwart contemporary corporate craziness<\/a> and the influence of investment funds pushing &#8220;diversity, equity and inclusion&#8221; instead of return on investment.
