If the proceedings don\u2019t go his way, he could face time behind bars.<\/p>\n<h3>Child Support Case<\/h3>\n<p>Hunter Biden is facing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/i-expect-him-to-be-indicted-says-lawyer-for-mother-of-hunter-bidens-out-of-wedlock-child\/\" title=\"\u2018I Expect Him To Be Indicted,\u2019 Says Lawyer For Mother Of Hunter Biden\u2019s Out-Of-Wedlock Child\">child support case<\/a> in Arkansas, in which he was ordered by the presiding judge in May to hand over information on his finances.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWhy he should not be held in contempt.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Attorneys representing Lunden Alexis Roberts, the mother of Hunter Biden\u2019s child, filed a motion on May 18 to hold the president\u2019s son in contempt of court after alleging he had failed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-could-face-prison-for-contempt-of-court-judge-says\/\" title=\"Judge warns Hunter Biden of possible prison time for contempt of court.\">fully answer questions relating<\/a> to his ability to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-put-baby-mama-on-payroll-of-his-consulting-firm-contradicting-his-claims\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden Put Baby-Mama On Payroll Of His Consulting Firm, Contradicting His Claims\">pay child support<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cPunishment or sanctions\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Judge Holly Lodge Meyer issued an order on June 5 (<a href=\"https:\/\/images.arcourts.gov\/IMAGESimg\/CK_Image.Present2?DMS_ID=FA38F9B7F71F16CCCDCD3313C9671205F14184F32E75400D369FE146FEC10A9EED8085FD0F9A898154F066A4E90321BBBF4B7D35E0676157DB0A2E9DEDD6819A&#038;i_url=https:\/\/images.arcourts.gov\/IMAGESimg\">pdf<\/a>) saying Hunter Biden must appear on July 10 at the Independence County Courthouse in Batesville to explain.<\/p>\n<h3>Contempt of Court<\/h3>\n<p>In Arkansas, contempt of court is a Class C misdemeanor punishable by fines and prison time.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIncarceration for civil contempt until such time as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-faces-possible-jail-time-in-arkansas-child-support-battle\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden may go to jail due to child support dispute in Arkansas.\">defendant fully answers discovery<\/a> for a period of up to six months\u201d and \u201cincarceration for criminal contempt for a period of up to six months.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In her order, Meyer said that she would consider \u201cpunishment or sanctions\u201d against Hunter Biden, including incarceration.<\/p>\n<h2>More Details<\/h2>\n<p>Roberts sued Biden for child support in 2019. Initially, Biden denied that the child was his, but a DNA test confirmed he is the father.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cSensitive personal information\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In 2020, the two agreed to an undisclosed amount. Terms of the agreement are sealed because they contain <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/data-purchasing-by-federal-law-enforcement-other-govt-agencies\/\" title=\"Data purchasing by federal law enforcement, other govt. agencies\">sensitive personal information<\/a>, including the amount of monthly support and each party\u2019s source of income.<\/p>\n<p>However, Biden later asked the court to review the child support arrangements because his financial situation had changed, leading to the case now being considered before the court.<\/p>\n<p>He appeared before Independence County Circuit Court in Batesville on May 1. During that hearing, his attorney said that Biden had been paying $20,000 per month in child support, for a total of up to $750,000 since the support order was signed.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cProvide information on his income\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At that hearing, the judge ordered Biden to provide information on his income from his artwork, investments, employment, gifts from friends, and other sources.<\/p>\n<p>The judge also said she couldn\u2019t rule on the amount of child support because neither side had provided enough information in the discovery process to move forward.<\/p>\n<p>Roberts\u2019s attorneys have complained that the Biden team was dragging its feet in the discovery process and filed a motion on May 18 for Biden to be held in contempt.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cSomewhat financially destitute\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Clinton Lancaster, a lawyer for Roberts, argued in the motion for contempt that Biden had been ordered to do something but didn\u2019t and that this \u201cis a habit and a game for Mr. Biden.\u201d Lancaster continued that Biden doesn\u2019t want to disclose his income and \u201csays that he is somewhat financially destitute\u201d despite living in an oceanfront home in Malibu and going on foreign trips.<\/p>\n<p>The Epoch Times reached out to Biden\u2019s attorney, Abbe Lowell, for comment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>July, Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, must appear before an Arkansas judge to defend himself against contempt of court charges.
