Jim Banks (R., Ind.) and his family. Thompson, 34, allegedly called Banks&#8217;s office eight times in early April and left several threatening messages. According to a probable cause <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/capitol-breach-suspect-asks-judge-for-permission-to-travel-to-peru-to-get-married\/\" title=\"Capitol Breach Suspect Asks Judge for Permission To Travel to Peru to Get Married\">filing obtained<\/a> by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indystar.com\/story\/news\/politics\/2023\/06\/06\/jim-banks-indiana-fort-wayne-man-intimidation-harassment-allen-county\/70292792007\/\"><em>Indiana Capital Chronicle<\/em><\/a>, Thompson told Banks he owned a gun and said he hoped Banks would die in a car accident or have &#8220;his brains blown-out.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Here&#8217;s the choice. Your daughters grow up without their dad or you grow old without your daughters,&#8221; the Fort Wayne man said. &#8220;Boom, boom you pick.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with U.S. Capitol Police, Thompson admitted to being intoxicated and said he left the messages due to disagreement with Banks&#8217;s political views.<\/p>\n<h3>Consequences of Intimidation and Harassment<\/h3>\n<p>Intimidation is a felony and harassment is a misdemeanor in Indiana. It is important to remember that threatening and harassing behavior is not acceptable and can have serious consequences.
