Baltimore Jr., CEO of Park Hotels &#038; Resorts, which owns the two hotels.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Concerns Over Street Conditions, Office Vacancies, and Reduced Conventions<\/h3>\n<p>The owner of the city&#8217;s largest hotel, the Hilton San Francisco Union Square, and its fourth-largest, Parc 55, will cease payments on $725 million worth of loans and enter foreclosure on the hotels because the city is facing &#8220;major challenges.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The decision was &#8220;very difficult, but necessary&#8221; because of concerns over street conditions, office vacancies, and reduced conventions, according to Baltimore.<\/p>\n<h3>Businesses Fleeing San Francisco<\/h3>\n<p>The hotels are far from the first businesses to flee. Old Navy last week announced it will close its flagship store. Whole Foods and Nordstrom have shuttered businesses in the city over safety concerns. The latter&#8217;s exit is costing the city 380 jobs. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/d-c-police-firearms-will-not-be-tolerated\/\" title=\"D.C. Police: Firearms will not be tolerated\">downtown area<\/a> of the city has lost half of its businesses since the start of the pandemic.<\/p>\n<h3>Public Safety Concerns<\/h3>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/discarded-masks-are-trashing-the-worlds-oceans-and-beaches\/\" title=\"Discarded Masks Are Trashing The World\u2019s Oceans And Beaches\">recent study found<\/a> very few people in the Bay Area <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-are-no-friends-of-freedom-the-american-spectator-usa-news-and-politicsthe-american-spectator-usa-news-and-politics\/\" title=\"Democrats Are No Friends of Freedom\">feel safe<\/a> on public transportation. The Bay Area Council found in a poll that 78 percent of residents said they would ride more often if trains and buses were safer and cleaner. Just 17 percent of those asked said they feel safe on public transit.<\/p>\n<h3>Comedian Dave Chapelle Weighs In<\/h3>\n<p>Even comedian Dave Chapelle is concerned about the state of San Francisco. He asked an audience there last month, &#8220;What the f\u2014 happened to this place?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Y\u2019all &#8230; need a Batman!&#8221; Chappelle reportedly told the crowd.
