To address this issue, Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.) is preparing to introduce a bill that will require any content produced by AI to have a Disclaimer attached to it, informing the audience that it was generated by AI.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe simplest place to start is disclosure. All generative AI\u2014whether the content it generates is text or images, video or audio\u2014should be required to disclose itself as AI,\u201d Torres said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The bill, titled the \u201cAI Disclosure Act of 2023,\u201d would require any output from AI to include the sentence \u201cDisclaimer: this output has been generated by artificial intelligence.\u201d The Federal Trade Commission will be responsible for enforcing the new rule.<\/p>\n<h3>EU Government Asks Big Tech Companies to Tackle AI Problem<\/h3>\n<p>The European Union\u2019s (EU) government is also taking steps to address the issue of AI-generated content. EU Commission vice president Vera Jourova has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/congress-bill-wants-ai-content-to-be-labeled\/\" title=\"Congress wants AI content labeled.\">asked big tech companies<\/a> like Google, Meta, and Microsoft to identify AI-generated content that contains false information and to clearly label it for users.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Companies offering services that have the potential to spread AI-generated disinformation should roll out technology to \u201crecognize such content and clearly label this to users,\u201d she said.<\/li>\n<li>Online platforms that have integrated generative AI into their services, such as Microsoft\u2019s Bing search engine and Google\u2019s Bard chatbot, should build safeguards to prevent \u201cmalicious actors\u201d from generating disinformation, Jourova said at a briefing in Brussels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These legislative efforts come after many AI experts and lawmakers have expressed concerns about the future of AI development. A newly introduced AI robot in the United Kingdom <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/newly-developed-humanoid-robot-warns-about-ai-creating-oppressive-society_5310714.html\">warned<\/a> about the possibility of AI creating an oppressive society.<\/p>\n<p>As AI continues to advance, it is important to regulate its development and use to prevent potential harm to society.
