While the White House has made it clear that it does not support a gas stove ban, it has come out against the Gas Stove Protection and Freedom Act and the Save Our Gas Stoves Act.<\/p>\n<h3>What the Bills Would Do<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>H.R. 1615, the Gas Stove Protection and Freedom Act, would prohibit the CPSC from using federal funds to regulate gas stoves as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-accuse-gop-of-stoking-culture-wars-with-bills-limiting-gas-stove-rules\/\" title=\"Dems claim GOP fuels culture wars with gas stove regulations.\">banned hazardous product<\/a> or enforce a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/federal-agency-pushes-new-rules-targeting-portable-gas-powered-generators\/\" title=\"Federal Agency Pushes New Rules Targeting Portable Gas-Powered Generators\">product safety standard<\/a> that prohibits the use or sale of gas stoves or substantially increases their price.<\/li>\n<li>H.R. 1640, the Save Our Gas Stoves Act, would amend the Energy Policy and Conservation Act to say that an energy conservation standard for kitchen ranges or ovens &#8220;cannot be &#8216;economically justified&#8217; if it likely will result in the unavailability in the United States of a type (or class) of product based on what type of fuel the product consumes,&#8221; according to a summary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The White House has not committed to vetoing the bills if they pass the House, but it has made its opposition clear.
