Lee Zeldin: 'Pearl Harbor Tells Story of How Many Young Adults Answered the Call' for 'The Ultimate Battle of Good Vs Evil'\">define success<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Lydia Owens, valedictorian and senior class president at Woodmont High School, delivered a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/black-lives-matter-nominated-for-nobel-peace-prize\/\" title=\"Black Lives Matter Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize\">powerful message<\/a> during her graduation ceremony. She urged her fellow graduates to stop measuring their worth by their future accomplishments.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cEven if you accomplish all of your dreams or none of them at all, you are still valuable, and you are still good enough because you are made in the image of God,\u201d Owens said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Owens shared that her mother&#8217;s passing two <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/review-dune\/\" title=\"REVIEW: \u2018Dune\u2019\">years ago made<\/a> her realize that her academic success and other accomplishments were not what gave her value.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWhen everything else in my life felt uncertain, the only person I could depend on to stay the same was Jesus,\u201d she told her classmates.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Owens&#8217;s mother was a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/graduation-speech-goes-viral-for-faith-based-definition-of-success-you-are-made-in-the-image-of-god\/\" title=\"Viral graduation speech defines success with faith: \u2018You are made in God\u2019s image\u2019\">strong role model<\/a> of faith in her life, and she credits her for her own strong faith.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cShe\u2019s the reason I have such a strong faith,\u201d Owens said. \u201cShe wanted me to be my best, and she wanted me to keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In her final words to her class, Owens encouraged them, saying: \u201cYou don\u2019t have to worry about whether or not you\u2019ll be successful because God promises that his grace is sufficient for us and that his power is made perfect in our weaknesses.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The response to Owens&#8217;s speech has been overwhelmingly positive, with video of her speech being widely shared on social media.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI was in attendance &#038; was blown away at her boldness in truth,\u201d one person tweeted. \u201cI was admittedly surprised, but also thrilled she was permitted to have all of it in her speech. When she started talking about however you define success will leave you empty, I thought \u2014 go girl.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBold leaders like her is what gives me hope for this world!\u201d another tweeted. \u201cWell done!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Owens plans to attend Anderson University in the fall and major in elementary education.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lydia Owens, valedictorian and senior class president at Woodmont High School in South Carolina, has gained internet fame for her graduation speech.
