(Photo by Spencer Platt\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to a new Morning Consult poll, former President Donald Trump is leading Florida Governor Ron DeSantis by 34% in the 2024 Republican primary. The poll shows that 56% of the GOP electorate back the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/big-tech-censorship-left-wing-violence-in-national-spotlight\/\" title=\"Big Tech censorship, left-wing violence in national spotlight\">45th president<\/a>, while only 22% support DeSantis. Former Vice President Mike Pence comes in third with 7%. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cDeSantis\u2019 support is stagnant after launch,\u201d analysis from the poll said. \u201cDeSantis trails Trump by 34% among GOP primary voters (22% to 56%), similar to his standing before he launched his campaign on May 24.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The survey also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pennsylvania-poised-to-strip-dem-gov-of-emergency-covid-powers\/\" title=\"Pennsylvania Poised to Strip Dem Gov of Emergency COVID Powers\">asked voters<\/a> who they would choose as a second option after submitting their first choice. Forty-seven percent of Trump voters picked DeSantis as their number two, and 44% of DeSantis voters view the 45th president as their second option. <\/p>\n<p>Despite announcing his bid for presidency nearly two weeks ago, DeSantis has yet to see a material bump in the polls. According to Real Clear Politics polling average, Trump still holds a 30 point lead on the Florida governor nationally. <\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/poll-trump-maintains-30-point-lead-in-gop-primary\/\" title=\"Trump still ahead by over 30 points in GOP primary poll.\">significant advantage appears<\/a> to be consistent in state polls as well.
