Why? Because we put the safety of our team, of our guests, front and center. It\u2019s only merchandise,\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lululemon\u2019s CEO, Calvin McDonald, recently defended the company\u2019s decision to terminate two employees who called the police as three masked men robbed their Georgia store location. McDonald cited Lululemon\u2019s \u201czero-tolerance policy\u201d on engaging thieves when asked about the firing of Jennifer Ferguson and Rachel Rogers, a pair of workers who confronted thieves and called the police at their shop in Peachtree City, located in the Atlanta metropolitan area.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Company Policy<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When pressed, McDonald claimed that the employees were not fired for calling the police but because they broke company policy by \u201cengaging the thieves across <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/metoo-tweets-from-andrew-cuomo-that-aged-horribly\/\" title=\"#MeToo Tweets From Andrew Cuomo That Aged Horribly\">multiple points<\/a>, including following them out of the store.\u201d Ferguson, who was an assistant manager, told NBC\u2019s local affiliate 11Alive that when a robbery occurs, workers are told to \u201cscan a QR code. And that\u2019s that. We\u2019ve been told not to put it in any notes, because that might scare other people. We\u2019re not supposed to call the police, not really supposed to talk about it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Rising Retail Theft<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The robbery at the Peachtree City location is part of a trend of retail theft across the nation which has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/unreliability-of-u-s-electric-grid-increasingly-on-display\/\" title=\"Unreliability Of U.S. Electric Grid Increasingly On Display\">brought increased attention<\/a> to the risks faced by employees, shopper safety, and rising prices. McDonald admitted that \u201cretail theft and shrink has been a growing topic.\u201d The CEO stated that the company is investing under three \u201cpillars\u201d: training, technology, and working with law enforcement.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Enforcing Policy<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe take that policy seriously because we have had instances \u2014 and we have seen with other retailers, instances \u2014 where employees step in and are hurt, or worse, killed,\u201d McDonald said. \u201cAnd the policy is to protect them. But we have to stand behind the policy to enforce it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Arrests Made<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Four men have been arrested and charged after multiple Lululemon stores were ransacked around the Atlanta area, according to Fox 5 Atlanta.
