George Santos (R-NY)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Rep. George Santos (R-NY) is facing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-former-top-ftx-executives-plead-guilty-to-federal-charges-in-fraud-case\/\" title=\"BREAKING: Former Top FTX Executives Plead Guilty To Federal Charges In Fraud Case\">criminal fraud case<\/a>, and his lawyers have requested that the identities of his cosigners for his $500,000 bond be kept sealed. In fact, Santos has stated that he would rather be detained than reveal their names. <\/p>\n<p>Media organizations have requested that the names be unsealed, but Santos&#8217; lawyers argue that the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/resurfaced-video-of-gov-cuomos-remarks-to-female-reporter-raising-concerns\/\" title=\"Resurfaced video of Gov. Cuomo\u2019s remarks to female reporter raising concerns\">media frenzy<\/a>&#8221; could put the lives of his backers in danger. Murray, Santos&#8217; attorney, has stressed that if their identities must be released, they should be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/cops-blame-rapper-french-montana-and-crew-for-situation-that-led-to-shooting-at-miami-restaurant\/\" title=\"Cops Blame Rapper French Montana And Crew For Situation That Led To Shooting At Miami Restaurant\">notified ahead<\/a> of time so that they can withdraw their signature. <\/p>\n<h3>Protecting the Cosigners<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cIn fact, if the suretors are required to be identified, we respectfully request that the Court allow the suretors notice before the court releases their information so that they can withdraw as cosignors on the bond and Rep. Santos and I will appear before Your Honor forthwith,\u201d Murray wrote. <\/p>\n<p>Santos has made it clear that he would rather surrender to pretrial detainment than subject his cosigners to any potential danger. Despite his indictment, Santos has not been expelled from Congress.
