Last month, Comer and Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa demanded via subpoena that the FBI produce an FD-1023 form that describes an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/senator-grassley-fbi-and-doj-will-damage-their-credibility-further-if-they-dont-cooperate-with-subpoena\/\" title=\"Grassley warns FBI and DOJ to cooperate with subpoena or risk credibility damage.\">alleged criminal scheme involving<\/a> then-Vice President Biden and a foreign national relating to the exchange of money for policy decisions.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the FBI notified Comer that it would bring the document to the Capitol where it could be reviewed in a secure space. Americans have lost trust in the FBI\u2019s ability to enforce the law impartially and demand answers, transparency, and accountability. The Oversight Committee must follow the facts for the American people and ensure the federal government is held accountable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Fox News has reported that the source of the document was a \u201cpre-existing\u201d FBI source who has been \u201cfound to be highly credible\u201d and has been used in investigations that have nothing to do with the Biden family.<\/p>\n<p>Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin of Maryland, who as the ranking Democrat on the Oversight Committee was part of the briefing, said the source may be credible but the information reported came from \u201ca conversation with someone else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The FBI defended its actions and wrote in a statement, according to Newsmax, \u201cBy offering to provide access to the requested document in combination with a briefing to offer context, the FBI has agreed in good faith to give the Committee all of the information it originally asked for and more.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The contempt of Congress hearings against FBI Director Christopher Wray will be closely watched by the American people as they demand answers, transparency, and accountability from the federal government.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Congress will hold Contempt hearings against FBI Director Christopher Wray on Thursday, as demanded by House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer and Republican Sen.
