In a video that highlights Trump&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dribbler-shuts-up-lebron-james-refuses-to-use-powerful-voice-to-promote-covid-19-vaccine\/\" title=\"Dribbler Shuts Up: LeBron James Refuses to Use \u2018Powerful Voice\u2019 to Promote COVID-19 Vaccine\">famous line<\/a> from The Celebrity Apprentice, &#8220;You&#8217;re fired,&#8221; the campaign criticizes the former president for his reluctance to terminate Fauci.<\/p>\n<h3>Trump&#8217;s Apprehension About Firing Fauci<\/h3>\n<p>The video begins with a compilation of Trump uttering his famous line, &#8220;You&#8217;re fired,&#8221; during his Celebrity Apprentice days. It then switches to Trump explaining his apprehension about terminating Fauci. &#8220;A lot of people ask me that question, and I did it right because if you do fire him, you&#8217;re going to have a firestorm on the Left again,&#8221; Trump said on Fox News&#8217;s Sunday Morning Futures.<\/p>\n<h3>DeSantis&#8217;s Criticism of Fauci<\/h3>\n<p>Fauci played a key role in Trump&#8217;s COVID-19 response during the pandemic. However, DeSantis has criticized him as the poster child for pandemic mandates and suppression measures. DeSantis has become an outspoken critic of COVID-19 containment policies, which has helped him gain popularity among Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis initially praised Fauci during the early stages of the pandemic before souring on him. The governor has recently used Trump&#8217;s pandemic response to differentiate himself from the former president. DeSantis has also positioned himself as a more disciplined executive of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-red-wave-of-conservative-women-elected-to-congress\/\" title=\"The Red Wave of Conservative Women Elected to Congress\">conservative policies<\/a> than Trump.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think he did great for three years, but when he turned the country over to Fauci in March of 2020, that destroyed millions of people\u2019s lives,&#8221; DeSantis told radio host Glenn Beck last month.<\/p>\n<h3>Fauci&#8217;s Departure<\/h3>\n<p>Fauci stepped down as the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases as well as his role as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-fauci-announces-the-us-will-rejoin-the-world-health-organization-promises-to-give-them-our-money\/\" title=\"WATCH: Fauci Announces the US Will Rejoin the World Health Organization, Promises to Give Them Our Money\">chief medical adviser<\/a> to the president late last year.<\/p>\n<p>Trump currently holds a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-campaign-hits-trump-for-not-telling-fauci-youre-fired\/\" title=\"DeSantis criticizes Trump for not firing Fauci.\">roughly 31-point lead<\/a> over DeSantis in the latest RealClearPolitics aggregate.
