She called for the United States to impose sanctions on China for its role in the crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Fentanyl is a deadly opioid that has caused more deaths in America than the Iraq, Afghanistan, and Vietnam wars combined. In 2021, it was the leading cause of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-takes-heat-for-killing-trumps-opioid-treatment-prescription-plan-praised-by-doctors\/\" title=\"Biden Takes Heat For Killing Trump\u2019s Opioid-Treatment Prescription Plan Praised By Doctors\">opioid-related deaths<\/a>, with 70,601 such deaths, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).<\/p>\n<h3>The Devastating Impact of Fentanyl<\/h3>\n<p>Haley lamented the state of affairs of the deadly opioid and emphasized the importance of taking action to address the crisis. She also spoke about the effect of fentanyl on America\u2019s youth.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIn some cases, these are kids that just ordered Adderall online to help take a test. I talked with some parents a month ago,\u201d she said. \u201cAnd \u2026 basically that\u2019s how they lost their son. He just took a pill from someone else before a test. We\u2019ve got to get that under control.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to note that these are not just &#8220;druggies&#8221; taking fentanyl. More than 50,000 pounds of fentanyl were seized by Customs and Border Protection at the southern border in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Sanctioning China would send a strong message that the United States is serious about addressing the fentanyl crisis and holding those responsible accountable.
