Santiago\/Getty Images)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Directors Guild of America (DGA) has reached a historic new three<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nba-drops-marijuana-testing-penalties-under-tentative-labor-agreement\/\" title=\"NBA Drops Marijuana Testing, Penalties Under Tentative Labor Agreement\">-year collective bargaining agreement<\/a> with Hollywood\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/exclusive-daily-wire-poll-most-americans-oppose-oscars-diversity-requirements\/\" title=\"EXCLUSIVE: Daily Wire Poll: Most Americans Oppose Oscars\u2019 Diversity Requirements\">major studios<\/a>, providing vast improvements for every director, assistant director, associate director, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/alec-baldwins-negligent-discharge-actor-may-face-involuntary-manslaughter-charges\/\" title=\"Alec Baldwin\u2019s Negligent Discharge \u2013 Actor May Face Involuntary Manslaughter Charges\">unit production manager<\/a>, and stage manager in the Guild. The deal includes gains in wages and residuals, guardrails around the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), and safety advancements such as the requirement of a dedicated safety supervisor, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/directors-reach-labor-deal-with-hollywood-studios-writers-still-on-strike\/\" title=\"Hollywood studios strike labor deal with directors, writers still striking.\">expanded safety training programs<\/a>, and the ban of live ammunition on set.<\/p>\n<p>The DGA negotiating committee said that the deal is being presented to the DGA board on Tuesday. The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) also confirmed the agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Since May 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) has been on strike, shutting down and stalling many television and film productions with no new negotiations being scheduled with the studios. Netflix has already postponed the production of programs like \u201cStranger Things.\u201d Warner Bros. Discovery\u2019s \u201cGame of Thrones\u201d spinoff also had its writers room affected, and Disney and Marvel\u2019s \u201cThunderbolts\u201d and \u201cBlade\u201d have also stopped production, albeit just temporarily.<\/p>\n<p>The WGA and SAG-AFTRA, the union representing Hollywood actors, are seeking protections against the use of AI and increased compensation as companies have benefited from the popularity of streaming services. SAG-AFTRA has asked members to give its negotiators the power to call a strike with results of that vote expected to be announced on Monday. Contract talks between actors and studios will begin on Wednesday with their current agreement expiring on June 30<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cHappy for gains DGA members made, frustrated we were stonewalled on all our asks.
