Kennedy Jr., the nephew of President John F. Kennedy and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/thank-god-for-andrew-cuomo-a-timeline-of-cnns-adoring-coverage-of-andrew-cuomo\/\" title=\"\u2018Thank God for Andrew Cuomo\u2019: A Timeline Of CNN\u2019s Adoring Coverage Of Andrew Cuomo\">presidential contender<\/a>, recently spoke out in support of the Second Amendment. In an interview with The Epoch Times, Kennedy stated that he believes in upholding the Constitution, which includes the right to bear arms.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m not going to take anybody\u2019s guns away,\u201d he said. \u201cI think at this point in history all that would do is to increase this toxic polarization.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Kennedy grew up in rural areas and understands the importance of firearms in the culture of those communities. He believes that gun ownership is existential for those who live in remote areas and that it is part of our Constitution, as interpreted by the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n<p>While Kennedy acknowledges the need to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/dozens-wounded-in-four-weekend-mass-shootings-across-four-cities-as-police-chiefs-brace-for-bloody-summer\/\" title=\"Dozens Wounded In Four Weekend Mass Shootings Across Four Cities As Police Chiefs Brace For \u2018Bloody Summer\u2019\">end mass shootings<\/a>, he does not believe that gun confiscation or limitations on gun rights are the solution. Instead, he suggests looking at the role of pharmaceutical products in the rise of mass shootings.<\/p>\n<h2>Pharmaceutical Link<\/h2>\n<p>Kennedy has been a vocal critic of the ways that pharmaceutical products have damaged physical and mental health, particularly among the newest generation. He suggests that psychoactive pharmaceutical products may explain the rise in mass shootings, which are most often perpetrated by men under 40.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWe need to look at the role of psychiatric drugs, particularly of SSRIs [anti-depressants] and benzos [benzodiazepine-class drugs],\u201d Kennedy said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Research into this matter has been stymied by the National Institutes of Health, according to Kennedy. He points out that many of these drugs have side effects that include suicidal and homicidal behavior.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy suggests that this may explain the disparities in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/lockdown-blamed-in-part-for-philadelphia-rise-in-gun-violence\/\" title=\"Lockdown blamed in part for Philadelphia rise in gun violence\">gun violence rates<\/a> between the United States and Switzerland.
