According to reports, Churchill gifted the cigar to Hugh Stonehewer-Bird, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/university-of-chicago-student-leaders-condemn-israel-in-unsigned-anti-semitic-letter\/\" title=\"University of Chicago Student Leaders Condemn Israel in Unsigned Anti-Semitic Letter\">consul general<\/a> in Rabat, Morocco, after a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/newsoms-hail-mary-dems-get-religion-on-signature-verification\/\" title=\"Newsom\u2019s Hail Mary: Dems Get Religion on Signature Verification\">dinner party<\/a> in August 1944.<\/p>\n<p>Stonehewer-Bird preserved the cigar in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/on-brand-satanists-protest-idahos-proposed-ban-on-child-sex-change-surgeries\/\" title=\"On Brand: Satanists Protest Idaho's Proposed Ban on Child Sex Change Surgeries\">glass jar<\/a> and kept it until his death in 1973. Now, his family has decided to sell it off, and it is set to hit the Hansons Auctioneers auction block on June 16. An initial guide price of up to \u00a3900 or around $1,120 has been set.<\/p>\n<h3>Preserving a Piece of History<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s amazing what turns up in glass jars,&#8221; said Hansons Auctioneers owner Charles Hanson. &#8220;Churchill was renowned for his love of cigars and occasionally gave them as gifts to people who had helped him in any way.
