Are you ready?<\/p>\n<h3>Qualifications for the Debate<\/h3>\n<p>McDaniel has also revealed the criteria that candidates must meet to qualify for the debate. The qualifications are divided into four categories: candidate status, polling, fundraising, and candidate pledging, according to an RNC <a href=\"https:\/\/gop.com\/press-release\/rnc-announces-criteria-and-date-for-first-debate-in-milwaukee\/\">press release<\/a> on June 2.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Under candidate status, the requirements include being eligible to run by meeting the criteria of being a natural-born U.S. citizen, residing in the country for at least 14 years, and being 35 years of age or older.<\/li>\n<li>Candidates must have officially declared their candidacy and filed an active Statement of Candidacy and Statement of Organization with the Federal Election Commission and identify themselves as Republican nominees.<\/li>\n<li>Regarding polling, candidates must <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rnc-unveils-2024-presidential-debate-rules-amid-uncertainty-about-trumps-attendance\/\" title=\"RNC reveals 2024 debate rules, unsure if Trump will attend.\">meet specific thresholds<\/a>. They must poll at least 1 percent in three national polls or 1 percent in two national polls and 1 percent in one early state poll from two separate \u201ccarve out\u201d states (Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, South Carolina) recognized by the RNC.<\/li>\n<li>These polls must survey a minimum of 800 registered likely Republican voters, utilizing a mix of live calls.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If the number of qualifying candidates necessitates, a second debate will be held on August 24.<\/p>\n<h3>Trump&#8217;s Hesitance to Participate<\/h3>\n<p>Previously, former President Donald Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theepochtimes.com\/trump-suggests-hell-skip-gop-primary-debates-why-subject-yourself-to-being-libeled-and-abused_5220831.html\">suggested<\/a> that he might skip out on GOP primary debates during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/a-thorough-consider-the-inflation-crisis\/\" title=\"A Thorough Consider the Inflation Crisis\">2024 presidential cycle<\/a>.
