The purpose of the recount was to verify the accuracy of the original vote count and to verify that all procedures and processes were conducted lawfully. As it turned out, we could do neither, and nothing has been done to fix it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The group discovered that 59 percent of the precincts where it looked at the results of Proposal 3 were either uncountable or the recounted totals did not match the original official vote totals.<\/p>\n<p>According to state law, during a recount, an entire precinct is declared uncountable if it is discovered that the seal of a ballot bag has been broken or there are holes or rips in the bag.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEighty-six percent of the 43 counties had at least one precinct which was either uncountable or had recount totals that did not match the original official totals,\u201d said Giacobazzi.<\/p>\n<p>During the recount of the results of Proposal 2\u2014a proposition to require absentee ballot drop boxes in every community and allow affidavits in lieu of photo ID\u2014in 47 precincts spanning four counties, EIF recount challengers found that 70 percent of those precincts were either uncountable or had recounted vote totals that did not match the original official totals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe went in expecting things to be bad, but not this bad. Not this widespread,\u201d Giacobazzi said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Negligence or Malpractice?<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cWhat we found was sloppy administration amounting to gross negligence at best or systematic malpractice at worst.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRegardless of how it happened, it is illegal to have holes in ballot bags and have broken seals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen we asked for an investigation, our multiple requests were denied.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Giacobazzi told The Epoch Times that state election officials add insult to injury when not content to just do nothing, they actively work against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/pa-state-sen-argall-backs-2020-ariz-style-audit-with-subpoena-power\/\" title=\"Pa. state Sen. Argall backs 2020 Ariz.-style audit with subpoena power\">election integrity activists<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He cited as an example where the state, being legally required to furnish people with an estimated cost of a recount, gave EIF an initial price of $76,000.<\/p>\n<p>The price soon escalated to nearly half a million dollars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe prohibitive price was used as a deterrent. They never thought we could raise that much money. When we did, the bureaucracy really had to scramble,\u201d Giacobazzi said.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5306977\" style=\"width: 224px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\">\n\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/06\/01\/id5306977-Scott-Aughney-1200x1161.jpg\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/img.theepochtimes.com\/assets\/uploads\/2023\/06\/01\/id5306977-Scott-Aughney-1200x1161.jpg\" alt=\"Citizen activist Scott Aughney speaks at an election integrity rally in St. Clair, Mich., on May 22, 2023.\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><noscript><\/noscript><\/figcaption><\/a><br \/>\n\t\t<\/figure>\n<h3>A Tangled Legal System<\/h3>\n<p>He stated EIF has over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/discrepancies-and-irregularities-still-plague-michigan-election-practices\/\" title=\"Michigan Elections Plagued by Discrepancies and Irregularities.\">20 good election integrity lawsuits<\/a> it could take to court, but the group has been hindered by a lack of money.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd, even if we had the money, there is a lack of attorneys willing to represent us because of fear of retribution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLocal officials tell us to take our complaints to the Attorney General. The irony is the Attorney General [Democrat Dana Nessel] is the lawyer for the Secretary of State\u2019s office and the Bureau of Elections,\u201d said Giacobazzi.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Is Local Law Enforcement the Answer?<\/h3>\n<p>Activist Scott Aughney spoke to a crowd of about 120 concerned citizens gathered at a church in St. Clair, Michigan, on May 22, explaining the legal strategy of using local law enforcement, county prosecutors, and citizen grand juries to go after state election officials for violating the law.<\/p>\n<p>Aughney encouraged the audience to go to their local municipal or county clerk and ask for their own personal voting history and personal change history records.<\/p>\n<p>When the local voting records are cross-checked with the state\u2019s voter registration list, many voters will be amazed to learn the two databases don\u2019t match up, he said.<\/p>\n<h3>Discrepancies Abound<\/h3>\n<p>Some of the m<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>voting, and same-day voter registration, all of which increase the risk of fraud.
