However, Hellerstein retired from the firm in 1998 and does not believe this poses a conflict of interest.<\/p>\n<h3>Impartiality Not Questioned<\/h3>\n<p>&#8220;In my opinion, my impartiality cannot reasonably be questioned and no appearance of impropriety exists,&#8221; Hellerstein wrote in the filing to Trump&#8217;s attorneys and the Manhattan District Attorney&#8217;s Office. The payments were intended to prevent Daniels from going public about an alleged affair she had with the former president in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg&#8217;s case accuses Trump of orchestrating a &#8220;catch and kill&#8221; scheme during the 2016 presidential cycle to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-middle-kingdoms-media-blitz\/\" title=\"The Middle Kingdom\u2019s Media Blitz\">bury negative stories<\/a> about him.
