Rand Paul Offers Dr. Rachel Levine As Example Of Radical Agenda Riding Biden\u2019s Coattails\">upcoming presidential election<\/a>, despite a report from Special Counsel John Durham that exposed the agency&#8217;s efforts to undermine voters in 2016. Jordan has sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding details about the extent of FBI involvement in a special counsel probe run by U.S. Attorney Jack Smith. <\/p>\n<p>In November, Smith was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/sco-smith\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">appointed<\/a> special counsel to investigate whether former President Donald Trump violated federal laws related to the handling of presidential records. The appointment came after an FBI raid of Trump\u2019s Mar-a-Lago home in which <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2022\/08\/09\/fbi-even-searched-melanias-wardrobe-in-trump-raid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">30<\/a> plainclothes agents confiscated 15 boxes of material at Garland\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/08\/12\/breaking-fbi-raid-warrant-demanded-seizure-of-literally-any-record-trump-ever-saw-during-4-year-presidential-term\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">personal direction<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Jordan Demands Answers<\/h3>\n<p>Jordan is now <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/republicans-reps-denied-entry-to-dc-jail-holding-jan-6-defendants\/\" title=\"Republicans Reps Denied Entry To DC Jail Holding Jan. 6 Defendants\">conducting congressional oversight<\/a> with a request that the DOJ disclose how many FBI agents are working under Smith on his investigation and what kind of resources the FBI has dedicated to the effort. The Judiciary chair gave the Justice Department two weeks to respond; the deadline is June 15. Jordan also demanded a congressional briefing from Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco related to Durham\u2019s findings.<\/p>\n<p>Durham\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/storage\/durhamreport.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> found that \u201cneither U.S. law enforcement nor the Intelligence Community appears to have possessed any actual evidence of collusion\u201d to implicate Trump nor any members of his campaign as Russian agents, yet the FBI launched Crossfire Hurricane and peddled the Russia-collusion hoax for years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[<a href=\"http:\/\/thefederalist.com\/Obama Admin Had No \u2018Actual Evidence\u2019 Of Collusion By Trump When It Launched Crossfire Hurricane Investigation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BOMBSHELL: Obama Admin Had No \u2018Actual Evidence\u2019 Of Collusion By Trump When It Launched Crossfire Hurricane Investigation<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe FBI has tried to dismiss the report\u2019s findings by claiming to have \u2018already implemented dozens of corrective actions\u2019 to prevent similar misconduct in the future,\u201d Jordan said. \u201cThe FBI\u2019s window dressing is not enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>FBI misconduct continued in 2020 with a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/02\/21\/the-twitter-files-reveal-big-techs-unholy-alliance-with-the-feds-exists-to-control-you\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">censorship operation<\/a> wherein the agency co-opted Silicon Valley tech giants to suppress incriminating stories about the Biden family.<\/p>\n<h3>Contempt Charges for FBI Director Christopher Wray<\/h3>\n<p>On Wednesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray faced <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/05\/31\/fbi-director-wray-threatened-with-contempt-over-stonewalling-republican-oversight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">threats<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/arizonas-maricopa-county-board-of-supervisors-rejects-arizona-senate-subpoena-demands-now-face-contempt-charges\/\" title=\"Arizona\u2019s Maricopa County Board of Supervisors Rejects Arizona Senate Subpoena Demands \u2013 Now Face Contempt Charges\">contempt charges<\/a> by Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley and Kentucky Rep. James Comer, who chairs the House Oversight Committee.
