However, HHS is now penalizing Oklahoma for keeping taxpayer funds away from abortions, by withholding the Title X grant worth millions.<\/p>\n<p>The same bureaucratic arm that funneled hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to known <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/five-unorthodox-pro-life-bills-advancing-in-state-legislatures\/\" title=\"Five Unorthodox Pro-Life Bills Advancing In State Legislatures\">pro-abortion activists<\/a> last year, is now withholding funds from Oklahoma for refusing to fund abortions.<\/p>\n<p>OSDH announced in late May that HHS\u2019s Office of Population Affairs \u201cdetermined our Title X program is out of compliance\u201d due to differences between the Biden administration\u2019s abortion policy and Oklahoma state law. <\/p>\n<p>Oklahoma Republicans Sens. James Lankford and Markwayne Mullin and Reps. Josh Brecheen, Stephanie Bice, Kevin Hern, Frank Lucas, and Tom Cole demanded the \u201cimmediate reinstallation\u201d of the award and warned that \u201cHHS\u2019 interpretation and application of the obligations of grantees under federal statute\u201d is wrong and will \u201csubstantially harm our constituency.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The legislators wrote, \u201cAbortion is not family planning; it<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Health and Human Services under President Joe Biden is using grant-giving power to penalize states that do not use taxpayer money for abortions.
