Sales of Modelo Especial, a Mexican lager, are closing in on Bud Light&#8217;s top spot. If this continues Modelo will surpass Bud Light for the year.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s worth noting that the Modelo brand is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ab-inbev.com\/our-brands\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">owned<\/a> by the Belgian conglomerate Anheuser-Busch InBev, just like Bud Light. However, in the United States, Constellation Brands controls Modelo sales under a 2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/justice-department-reaches-settlement-anheuser-busch-inbev-and-grupo-modelo-beer-case\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">antitrust settlement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bud Light&#8217;s sales have been declining for six straight weeks after a disastrous business partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
