(Photo by Josh Lefkowitz\/Getty Images) <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>OAN\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oann.com\/tag\/roy-francis\">Roy Francis<\/a><br \/>9:09 AM \u2013 Wednesday, May 31, 2023<\/p>\n<p>Dodgers\u2019 pitcher, Blake Treinen, joined Clayton Kershaw in denouncing the decision by the Los Angeles Dodgers organization to re-invite and honor the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence for Pride Night on June 16<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1\" style=\"min-width: 320px; min-height: 50px;  text-align: center;\">\n\t<script>  \n\t\tgoogletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1663871513696-art-1'); });  \n\t<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-slot__ad-label\">Advertisement<\/div>\n<p>The Dodgers had initially removed the group of what are known as \u201ctans nuns\u201d from the list of honorees for June 16<sup>th<\/sup>. However, the organization decided to re-invite them after \u201cmuch thoughtful feedback from our diverse communities.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cAfter much thoughtful feedback from our diverse communities, honest conversations within the Los Angeles Dodgers organization and generous discussions with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, the Los Angeles Dodgers would like to offer our sincerest apologies to the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, members of the LGBTQ+ community and their friends and families,\u201d the organization said. \u201cWe have asked the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to take their place on the field at our 10th annual LGBTQ+ Pride Night on June 16<sup>th<\/sup>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mlb-players-slam-dodgers-over-pride-night-decision\/\" title=\"MLB players criticize Dodgers for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/detroit-tigers-donating-money-for-trans-surgeries-during-pride-night\/\" title=\"Detroit Tigers Donating Money For Trans Surgeries During \u2018Pride Night\u2019\">pride night<\/a> choice.&#8221;>organization received backlash<\/a> for its decision to reverse their decision from Conservative and Catholic groups. Kershaw also criticized the organization saying that \u201che is not on board\u201d with the decision that they had made.<\/p>\n<p>Kershaw had then gone on to announce that the team will relaunch its Christian Faith and Family day in response to the organization\u2019s decision to honor the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI think we were always going to do Christian Faith Day this year, but I think the timing of our announcement was sped up,\u201d Kershaw told the Los Angeles Times. \u201cPicking a date and doing those different things was part of it as well. Yes, it was in response to the highlighting of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Treinen, who is currently recovering from shoulder injury, joined Kershaw in criticizing the organization\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cI am disappointed to see the Sister\u2019s [sic] of Perpetual Indulgence being honored as heroes at Dodger Stadium,\u201d Treinen said in a statement released on Twitter by his friend Sean Feucht. \u201cMany of their performances are blasphemous, and their work only displays hate and mockery of Catholics and the Christian faith.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThis group openly mocks Jesus Christ, the cornerstone of my faith,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd I want to make it clear that I do not agree with nor support the decision of the Dodger\u2019s to \u2018honor\u2019 the Sister\u2019s of Perpetual Indulgence.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Another player to join the two pitchers from the Dodgers is the former Mets pitcher, Trevor Williams.
