The bill has now cleared both the Texas Senate and House and goes on to Republican Gov. Greg Abbott\u2019s desk, where he may sign it into law. <\/p>\n<h3> What Does Texas SB 12 Entail? <\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li> Ban performances involving sexual depictions and actual or simulated sexual contact with another person when in the presence of an individual who is younger than 18 years old. <\/li>\n<li> Violators face a civil penalty of up to $10,000 per violation. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> The bill comes two years after Abbott <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacurrent.com\/news\/texas-governor-signs-new-law-requiring-strip-club-employees-and-patrons-to-be-at-least-21-26356464\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">signed legislation<\/a> barring anyone younger than 21 years of age from working in or patronizing a strip club. Republican Rep. Matt Shaheen, the House sponsor for the bill, said this latest measure is focused on \u201cbanning drag shows and other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nike-and-ymca-team-up-with-onlyfans-prostitute-to-teach-kids-explicit-dancing\/\" title=\"Nike And YMCA Team Up With OnlyFans Prostitute To Teach Kids Explicit Dancing\">sexual performances<\/a> in front of children.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am carrying Senate Bill 12 to protect children from being sexualized and put an end to these shameful events,\u201d Shaheen said of the bill\u2019s passage in a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MattShaheen\/status\/1663002247457038336\">statement<\/a> on Sunday. \u201cWe will not tolerate our children being exposed to explicit, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/baymax-shows-remorseless-disney-plans-to-keep-pummeling-kids-with-its-sexual-agenda\/\" title=\"\u2018Baymax\u2019 Shows Remorseless Disney Plans To Keep Pummeling Kids With Its Sexual Agenda\">hyper-sexualized content<\/a> from any type of performer in any way in the great state of Texas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>NTD News reached out to Abbott\u2019s office for comment on the passage of SB 12, and whether he intends to sign the bill into law. His office did not respond by the time this article was published.<\/p>\n<p>Following SB 12\u2019s passage on Sunday, Republican Lt. Gov.
