However, a judge denied the request for sanctions and the petition for reimbursement on May 26.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cEven if her argument did not prevail, Lake, through her witness, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-rejects-maricopa-countys-efforts-to-sanction-kari-lake-her-suit-was-not-groundless\/\" title=\"Kari Lake's lawsuit not 'groundless', Maricopa County's sanction efforts rejected by judge.\">presented facts consistent<\/a> with and in support of her legal argument,\u201d Thompson wrote. \u201cThe remainder of Defendants\u2019 allegations appear to rely on the Court\u2019s inherent power as the authority by which they request the Court \u2018award\u2019 unspecified sanctions \u2018against\u2019 Lake\u2019s counsel,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While Lake&#8217;s loss at trial is the second time that Judge Peter Thompson rejected her claims, he stipulated that \u201copposing litigants in a heated dispute will naturally view the same evidence differently,\u201d providing an argument for why Lake\u2019s lawyers shouldn\u2019t be sanctioned.<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018Elections Are a Mess\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>Despite the setback, Kari Lake is determined to take her election challenge to the U.S. Supreme Court. Earlier this year, Lake indicated that she might run for Senate in 2024 and said that her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/88-percent-of-black-marylanders-support-hogans-re-fund-the-police-initiative\/\" title=\"88 Percent of Black Marylanders Support Hogan\u2019s \u2018Re-Fund the Police\u2019 Initiative\">internal polling shows<\/a> her performing well against Sen. Kyrsten Sinema and Rep.
