Williamson, who announced her candidacy for the 2024 primary in March, recently appeared on Fox News\u2019 \u201cThe Next Revolution\u201d to criticize the DNC\u2019s decision to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rfk-jr-challenges-biden-to-debate-our-party-has-gone-off-track\/\" title=\"RFK Jr. Challenges Biden to Debate: \u2018Our Party Has Gone Off Track\u2019\">forgo primary debates altogether<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThe American people are waking up. The only way to protect our democracy is through the practice of more democracy,\u201d she said. \u201cSo, the American people at a time like this\u2014for the sake of our democracy\u2014should have options, should have as much array in front of them of ideas, whether they\u2019re on the left or on the right, whether they\u2019re on the Republican Party of Democratic Party. That\u2019s democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Williamson believes that voters should have the opportunity to hear from all candidates and decide for themselves who deserves the nomination. She is not alone in her criticism of the DNC\u2019s reported plans to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rfk-jr-responds-to-dncs-plans-to-skip-primary-debates-the-system-is-indeed-rigged\/\" title=\"RFK Jr. Responds to DNC\u2019s Plans to Skip Primary Debates: \u2018The System Is Indeed Rigged\u2019\">skip primary debates<\/a>. Robert F. Kennedy Jr., another Democratic presidential candidate, recently spoke out against the decision.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cDebates and town halls are part of the democratic process,\u201d Kennedy told The Epoch Times in April. \u201cWe\u2019re living in a time when there\u2019s a lot of Americans who believe our democracy is broken. And I think both political parties have to bend.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The move has also prompted responses from prominent figures like Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who tweeted that all candidates deserve the opportunity to debate.<\/p>\n<h3>Protecting Democracy<\/h3>\n<p>Williamson believes that protecting democracy requires more democracy, and that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/marianne-williamson-accuses-dnc-of-making-it-easier-for-biden-to-win-nomination\/\" title=\"Williamson: DNC Helped Biden Win Nomination.\">means giving voters<\/a> the chance to hear from all candidates. She has accused the DNC of making it easier for Biden to win the nomination and has called for more transparency in the nomination process.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not just that I deserve to have a chance to get my message out there. I think the American people deserve to hear whoever is running and what they have to say,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As the 2024 primary approaches, it remains to be seen whether the DNC will reconsider its decision to skip primary debates.
