However, this year&#8217;s Memorial Day doodle was simply the word &#8220;Google&#8221; printed in gray.<\/p>\n<p>Many people are calling out Google for not putting more effort into creating a doodle to honor our veterans, who sacrificed so much for our freedom. Why not include American flags or a sketch of a soldier&#8217;s helmet to honor our veterans? Google has produced some spectacular doodles in the past, so it&#8217;s clear they have the capacity to do something simple like this.<\/p>\n<p>This also highlights the fact that many Americans don&#8217;t properly understand what Memorial Day is.
