At the same time, we recognize that economic resilience requires de-risking and diversifying,\u201d the leaders stated in the communiqu\u00e9. \u201cWe will take steps, individually and collectively, to invest in our own economic vibrancy. We will reduce excessive dependencies in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrat-lawmaker-holding-olympics-in-china-in-some-ways-worse-than-holding-1936-olympics-in-nazi-germany\/\" title=\"Democrat Lawmaker: Holding Olympics In China \u2018In Some Ways Worse Than\u2019 Holding 1936 Olympics In Nazi Germany\">critical supply chains<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As part of this strategy, the leaders agreed to implement export control and outbound investment measures to safeguard sensitive technologies and build resilient supply chains.<\/p>\n<h3>Mixed Messaging<\/h3>\n<p>Some criticized the summit\u2019s communiqu\u00e9 for sending conflicting messages by including references to constructive engagement with Beijing, which did not exist a year ago.<\/p>\n<p>The leaders stated their willingness to establish \u201cconstructive and stable relations with China.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to Steve Yates, a China expert and former White House national security official, the summit sent out a lot of mixed messages.<\/p>\n<h3>\u2018Anti-China Workshop\u2019<\/h3>\n<p>On May 22, China\u2019s foreign ministry slammed the G-7 communiqu\u00e9 and summoned the Japanese ambassador in protest to the summit\u2019s host.
