Tim Scott Reveals What God Told Him Before Announcing Presidential Run<\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019d like to say there was like an audible voice, but I didn\u2019t have one. But there was this impression on my heart that was really about peace,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Republican presidential candidate Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina sought guidance from God before making his decision to run for the White House. Amid a bevy of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/whose-children-are-they\/\" title=\"Whose Children Are They?\">voices sharing<\/a> their opinions, Scott said there was only one voice he really wanted to hear from \u2014 God.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year, Scott said he would only run if he felt God called him to do so,\u201d according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.cbn.com\/news\/us\/sen-tim-scott-tells-cbn-news-what-god-told-him-he-announced-presidential-run\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Scott sought to define what he meant in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tim-scott-responds-views-racially-charged-attack-pointing-funny-thing-one-hosts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Biblical terms<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cYou know John 14:27 talks about the peace I give to you, not like the world gives to you, that I give to you, it was a combination between John 14:27 and 1 Peter 5:7 that you cast all your cares upon the Lord for He cares for you,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Scott recounted what took place on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/elon-musk-tweets-praise-republican-presidential-contender-not-trump-desantis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">night of his announcement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAbout six o\u2019clock, seven o\u2019clock I was thinking about it, was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/tim-scott-reveals-what-god-told-him-moments-before-announcing-presidential-run\/\" title=\"Tim Scott shares God's message before announcing presidential bid.\">feeling nerves<\/a> and the butterflies, and finally I heard the Lord speak to my heart and say, \u2018This is not about you, don\u2019t confuse it,\u2019\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c\u2018You\u2019re my vessel for this journey but it\u2019s not about you, it\u2019s about the American people who are starved for hope looking for opportunities, and want to protect this nation that they love,\u2019\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI really felt like the Lord was saying remove \u2018you\u2019 from the equation and let\u2019s just see what happens,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Scott said the moment further bolstered his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dem-suffers-brutal-loss-tim-scott-major-change-happens-twitter-account\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">optimism<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m very confident that he\u2019s not finished with this nation yet and my hope is that we usher in a new wave of optimism and hope as we turn back towards faith, not just faith in the Lord Almighty, but faith in each other and faith in the future,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Scott said telling the positive side of America\u2019s story is important.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cWhat I want to focus on is what America has done. That being the city on the hill that\u2019s consistent with the Gospel is our responsibility and our future if we take ourselves out of it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re going to talk about restoring hope. We\u2019re going to talk about creating opportunities. And we\u2019re going to protect the America we love, and that\u2019s going to start at our southern borders,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Scott said the Bible remains a key pillar for his campaign.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI still believe in the goodness of America. That\u2019s why I lean on, as I said in my speech, Ephesians 3:20, \u2018God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or imagine.\u2019 Let\u2019s get back to believing each other and setting our sights so high it\u2019s impossible for us to fail,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/29-sacramento-students-stranded-in-afghanistan\/\" title=\"29 Sacramento students stranded in Afghanistan\">speech announcing<\/a> his run for the White House, Scott struck a tone of optimism and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tim-scott-fires-back-left-hits-barrage-racist-attacks-biden-rebuttal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">unity<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cFor those of you who wonder if America is a racist country, take a look at how people come together,\u201d he said. \u201cAll of God\u2019s people come together. Black ones and White ones, and red ones and brown ones working together,\u201d he said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2023\/05\/22\/tim-scott-speech-launch-2024-presidential\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Washington Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will be the president who stops the far left\u2019s assault on our religious liberty,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Scott said there is a very pragmatic consideration in his refusal to demonize others in the crowded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/racist-chris-cuomo-eviscerated-accusing-sen-tim-scott-carrying-water-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Republican presidential field<\/a>, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/sen-tim-scott-warns-democrats-weaponize-words-gop-2024-candidates\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cI think the road to socialism runs right through a divided Republican Party. Everything we say about each other, the Democrats will weaponize against all of us, no matter who the nominee is,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to focus on the real problem in America. The real problem in America is the feckless leadership of Joe Biden,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Sen. Tim Scott&#8217;s faith in God and his belief in the goodness of America are the pillars of his campaign. He seeks to restore hope, create opportunities, and protect the America we love.
