The bill imposes some spending limits on discretionary non-defense spending and gave Republicans some of what they wanted on issues such as work requirements for some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-banking-on-3-6-trillion-tax-increases-to-fund-agenda-plans\/\" title=\"Biden Banking On .6 Trillion Tax Increases To Fund Agenda Plans\">social services programs<\/a>, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/4024014-whats-in-the-deal-to-raise-the-debt-ceiling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a good strong bill that a majority of Republicans will vote for. You\u2019re going to have Republicans and Democrats be able to move this to the president,\u201d McCarthy said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/mccarthys-next-challenge-sell-debt-ceiling-deal-congress-2023-05-28\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>However, multiple Republicans took to Twitter to lambaste the agreement.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Fake conservatives agree to fake spending cuts. Deal will increase mandatory spending ~5%, increase military spending ~3%, and maintain current non-military discretionary spending at post-COVID levels. The bottom line is that the U.S. will have $35 trillion of debt in January, 2025. That is completely unacceptable,\u201d Rep.
