That&#8217;s exactly what happened to Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett last week.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn&#8217;t until Pickett went to look for his vehicle that he realized it was gone, along with something very important &#8211; the Steelers playbook.<\/p>\n<p>The 2023 Genesis SUV was taken from Bowser Chevrolet in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, at about 4 p.m. on Wednesday, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpxi.com\/news\/local\/man-charged-after-steelers-qb-kenny-picketts-suv-stolen-monroeville\/6DDFTB3C6NBJNPFFTP4BQ25GZM\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WPXI-TV<\/a>\u00a0in Pittsburgh.<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, the police were able to recover the playbook and the SUV, and the suspect was caught. Christopher Carter, 60, was charged with theft by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/reports-2-arrested-for-allegedly-trying-to-steal-property-from-tornado-hit-kentucky-home\/\" title=\"Reports: 2 Arrested for Allegedly Trying to Steal Property from Tornado-Hit Kentucky Home\">unlawful taking<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/soros-backed-philadelphia-da-considered-helping-non-citizens-accused-of-rape-murder-avoid-deportation-records-show\/\" title=\"Soros-Backed Philadelphia DA Considered Helping Non-Citizens Accused Of Rape, Murder Avoid Deportation, Records Show\">receiving stolen property<\/a>, and unauthorized use of an automobile.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">This whole experience on Wednesday was surreal. I still can\u2019t believe it happened. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9PgYMcP31s\">https:\/\/t.co\/9PgYMcP31s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Andrew Fillipponi (@ThePoniExpress) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ThePoniExpress\/status\/1662262835819290625?\">May 27, 2023<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/sports\/kenny-picketts-car-stolen-middle-radio-interview?intcmp=tw_fnc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fox News<\/a>, Pickett was the No. 20 overall pick in the NFL draft and passed for 2,404 yards and seven touchdowns in his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/counting-down-the-10-biggest-quarterback-busts-of-all-time\/\" title=\"Counting Down The 10 Biggest Quarterback Busts Of All Time\">rookie year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>How the Suspect Was Caught<\/h3>\n<p>After police were called, they reviewed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/man-allegedly-tries-selling-stolen-car-facebook-gets-caught-act-cops-try-buy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">surveillance footage<\/a> until they spotted a man who arrived at about 1 p.m. and left at about 3:30 p.m. in Pickett\u2019s SUV. The suspect left his own car on the lot, making it easy for police to look up the registration and compare a photo of the suspect with the face seen on the video.<\/p>\n<p>Gary Legler, who lives near the suspect, told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtae.com\/article\/kenny-pickett-car-stolen\/44016207\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">WTAE-TV<\/a> that the dealership sent someone to recover Pickett\u2019s SUV \u2014 and something very important with it.<\/p>\n<p>Legler quoted the representative as saying to the police, \u201c\u2018Oh, the car was just sitting there, and he [the suspect] took it. And the owner has a book in the back, just personal information.\u2019 And come to find out, it\u2019s Kenny Pickett\u2019s car. Ashely Antonucci, who lives next to Carter, told WPXI the incident was \u201cvery, very bizarre.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI didn\u2019t think that episode was going to turn into what it did,\u201d she said, noting that she saw her neighbor in a vehicle she did not recognize.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDefinitely wasn\u2019t acting like himself,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s a standup guy, wonderful neighbor. I bring him dinner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully, Pickett was able to recover his SUV and the playbook, and the suspect was caught.
