Ken Buck (R-Co.). \u201cThe bottom line is that the U.S. will have $35 trillion of debt in January 2025. That is completely unacceptable.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Other Republicans in Washington were not as quick to dismiss the efforts to come to an agreement with the White House.<\/p>\n<h3>Impressive Wins and Serious Concerns<\/h3>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cLook forward to text. Nice to see the 72 hour rule being applied,\u201d tweeted Rep. Warren Davidson (R-Ohio).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>While McCarthy told reporters that he would not share specifics of the bill-in-writing during the press conference, the Speaker of the House offered some hints about what the GOP leadership achieved during the weeks-long discussions.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cAfter weeks of negotiations, we have come to an agreement in principle. We still have a lot of work to do, but I believe this is an agreement in principle that is worthy of the American people,\u201d McCarthy said. \u201cIt has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/preview-president-biden-to-unveil-1-8-trillion-american-families-plan-during-his-address-to-congress\/\" title=\"PREVIEW: President Biden To Unveil .8 Trillion \u2018American Families Plan\u2019 During His Address To Congress\">historic reductions<\/a> in spending, consequential reforms that will lift people out of poverty into the workforce, [and] rein in government overreach. There are no new taxes, no new government programs.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Details of the Deal<\/h3>\n<p>Soon after the press conference, a one-page outline of the deal\u2014the Fiscal Responsibility Act\u2014circulated online. The document revealed a two-year spending deal and two years of debt limits that also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/surrender-chorus-of-republicans-disappointed-with-debt-ceiling-agreement\/\" title=\"GOP Disappointed with Debt Ceiling Deal\">includes limiting topline federal spending<\/a> to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/democrats-and-republicans-fire-first-shots-in-debt-limit-showdown\/\" title=\"Democrats And Republicans Fire First Shots In Debt Limit Showdown\">1 percent annual growth<\/a> for the next six years. It does not consist of adjustments to Medicaid or student loans. An additional provision in the agreement claws back $400 million from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention\u2019s (CDC) Global Health Fund and $1.5 billion from its \u201cVaccine Distribution and Monitoring Program.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Finalizing the Agreement<\/h3>\n<p>Over the next day, Republican and Democratic negotiating teams will finalize legislative text and the bill will go to the House and Senate next week.
