He is required to protect the public from illegal conduct by charitable organizations. Hence why he is constitutionally authorized to investigate those organizations (see Tex. Const. art. IV, \u00a7 22). Likewise, section 123.002 of the Texas Property Code provides that the Attorney General is to act \u201cfor the behalf of the interest of the general public of this state.\u201d The Office of the Attorney General initially sued the Mitte Foundation in 2009\u2014before General Paxton\u2019s election\u2014to protect the public\u2019s interests.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Paxton\u2019s office continued by offering strong pushback to the other Articles of Impeachment, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Disregard of Official Duty\u2014Abuse of the Opinion Process<\/li>\n<li>Disregard of Official Duty\u2014Abuse of the Open Records Process<\/li>\n<li>Disregard of Official Duty\u2014Misuse of Official Information<\/li>\n<li>Disregard of Official Duty\u2014Engagement of Cammack<\/li>\n<li>Disregard of Official Duty\u2014Termination of Whistleblowers<\/li>\n<li>Misapplication of Public Resources\u2014Whistleblower Investigation and Report<\/li>\n<li>Disregard of Official Duty\u2014Settlement Agreement Similarly<\/li>\n<li>Constitutional Bribery\u2014Paul\u2019s Employment of Mistress<\/li>\n<li>Constitutional Bribery\u2014Paul\u2019s Providing Renovations to Paxton Home<\/li>\n<li>Obstruction of Justice\u2014Abuse of Judicial Process<\/li>\n<li>False Statements in Official Records\u2014State Securities Board Investigation<\/li>\n<li>False Statements in Official Records\u2014Personal Financial Statements<\/li>\n<li>False Statements in Official Records\u2014Whistleblower Response Report<\/li>\n<li>Counts XVI through XX\u2014Conspiracy and Attempted Conspiracy; Misappropriation of Public Resources; Dereliction of Duty; Unfitness for Office; Abuse of Public Trust.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1685202016677000&#038;usg=AOvVaw3BHv9qMQC3OwHMBCkGZXpF\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Four former employees of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fncs-dean-msm-coverage-of-cuomo-was-puff-pieces-while-there-were-bodybags-piling-up\/\" title=\"FNC's Dean: MSM Coverage of Cuomo Was 'Puff Pieces' While 'There Were Bodybags Piling up'\">attorney general\u2019<\/a>s office brought the suit in 2020, claiming they were retaliated against after accusing Paxton of corruption.
