I think the IRS is a corrupt organization and I think it\u2019s not a friend to the average citizen or taxpayer,\u201d DeSantis responded. \u201cWe need something totally different. I\u2019ve supported all of the single rate proposals, I think they would be a huge improvement over the current system and I would be welcoming to take this tax system, chunk it out the window and do something that\u2019s more favorable to the average folks.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>DeSantis has been a vocal critic of the IRS and its practices for years. In fact, in August 2022, he called the Biden administration&#8217;s effort to expand the IRS with 87,000 new agents a &#8220;middle finger to the American Public.&#8221; He believes that the new agents would mostly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/analysis-democrats-say-theyre-taxing-the-rich-but-theyre-actually-crushing-small-businesses\/\" title=\"Analysis: Democrats Say They\u2019re \u2018Taxing The Rich,\u2019 But They\u2019re Actually Crushing Small Businesses\">target small businesses<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/j-d-vance-democrats-care-more-about-illegal-aliens-ukraines-borders-than-working-class-americans\/\" title=\"J.D. Vance: Democrats Care More About Illegal Aliens, Ukraine's Borders than Working Class Americans\">middle-class citizens<\/a> who work day-to-day jobs.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cOf all the things that have come out of Washington that have been outrageous, this has got to be pretty close to the top,\u201d DeSantis said. \u201cI think it was basically just the middle finger to the American public, that this is what they think of you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cThey are going to go after independent contractors, they\u2019re going to go after small business people, they\u2019re going to go after someone that may be driving an Uber or a handyman or all these things,\u201d DeSantis added. \u201cWhy would they do that? Because you\u2019re not going to be able to contend with the audit, so they\u2019re going to crush a lot of people by doing that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>DeSantis has also been known to support a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/shapiro-debunking-the-myth-of-a-scandinavian-socialist-paradise\/\" title=\"SHAPIRO: Debunking The Myth Of A Scandinavian Socialist Paradise\">national sales tax<\/a> while serving in Congress from 2013-2018. However, the Trump-aligned super PAC, MAGA Inc., slammed the governor for his support of a national sales tax.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\">\n<p>\u201cIn Congress, Ron DeSantis backed a national sales tax, a 23% tax hike on almost everything you buy \u2026 from the gas station to the grocery store,\u201d an add by the super PAC said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>DeSantis, on the other hand, had said that he supported the national sales tax because, according to the bill, it would replace all other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/desantis-would-abolish-corrupt-irs\/\" title=\"DeSantis to eliminate 'corrupt' IRS.\">federal taxes including income tax<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Bryan Griffin, the political team press secretary for DeSantis, told Fox News that the governor wanted to lower the overall tax burden and &#8220;end the IRS&#8221; which was &#8220;being weaponized by the Obama administration.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis co-sponsored the bill called the Fair Tax Act in 2013, 2015, and 2017.<\/p>\n<h3>Stay Informed!<\/h3>\n<p>Receive breaking news blasts directly to your inbox for free.
