Passengers reported that crew members shouted for help to stop the man from opening the door, but he succeeded anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Cellphone <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/video\/plane-door-flies-open-during-asiana-airlines-flight-in-south-korea-12890193\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video footage<\/a> captured the moment the door opened, showing daylight streaming through the open door as passengers\u2019 hair and clothing were whipped around.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">On Friday afternoon, as an Asiana Airlines flight was landing at Daegu, South Korea, the door of the aircraft burst open. As panicked passengers clutched their armrests, the interior of the aircraft was filled with a howling wind. Twelve people were later treated at local hospitals for \u201cminor symptoms,\u201d including breathing problems, the AP reported.<\/p>\n<h3>\u201cVery Bizarre\u201d Incident<\/h3>\n<p>Aviation expert Geoffrey Thomas called the incident \u201cvery bizarre\u201d and said that technically, it\u2019s not possible to open those doors in flight. \u201cIt seems implausible that the door could be opened in the first place and then against the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/man-opened-planes-emergency-door-during-flight-because-he-felt-suffocated-wanted-to-get-off-quickly\/\" title=\"Man opened plane's emergency door mid-flight due to feeling suffocated and wanting to exit quickly.\">airstream technically impossible<\/a>, but somehow or another it has happened,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Asiana Airlines explained that the airplane is automatically set to adjust the pressure of the cabin according to the altitude of the aircraft. When the aircraft is high up in the air, it is impossible to open the door, but when the altitude is low and close to landing, the door can be opened.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/video-captures-aftermath-of-man-opening-plane-door-hundreds-of-feet-above-the-ground\/\" title=\"Video shows man opening plane door high in the air.\">detained passenger admitted<\/a> to opening the door, but would not say why he did so, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-video-climate-protesters-attempting-block-oil-meeting-sent-scrambling-police-step\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">police<\/a>. South Korea\u2019s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said the culprit could face up to 10 years in prison if he is found to have violated an aviation safety law.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, this was a shocking incident that could have ended in disaster.
