But it also acts as an anti-obesity medication that can be used for long-term weight management and swift weight loss.<\/p>\n<p>Celebrities jumped on board right away, including weight yo yo Oprah Winfrey. Others include comedian Chelsea Handler, \u201cThe Talk\u201d host Sharon Osbourne, model Remi Bader and billionaire Elon Musk.<\/p>\n<p>But new reports say the miracle drug brings along some disgusting side effects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI quite literally s*** myself while sleeping. That\u2019s a first. Been tough few days of diarrhea after my first semaglutide injection,\u201d FriendlyStyle6495 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Semaglutide\/comments\/11vpdzk\/sleep_shits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> on Reddit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI hate to admit this but you are not alone,\u201d replied SubjectHonest3109XXX.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have the same issue every time I up the dose. Starts with sulphur burps then s***ting myself by 3am,\u201d wrote AMRice2006.<\/p>\n<p>jds2001 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/Semaglutide\/comments\/x16xqa\/urgent_side_effects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wrote<\/a> a similar story on a different Reddit thread. \u201cI was out taking a walk today, and felt I needed to go #2. Figured that I would wait until I got home (which was maybe 10 minutes away by foot) and it started becoming more and more urgent. Suddenly, it just\u2026.came. Yep, I crapped myself in public,\u201d the user wrote.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-9096\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/onelink.to\/dwapp&#038;source=gmail&#038;ust=1685202016677000&#038;usg=AOvVaw3BHv9qMQC3OwHMBCkGZXpF\">CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>The drug is injected once a week into the stomach, thigh or arm and works by helping the pancreas release insulin when blood sugar levels are high.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSemaglutide is produced while we eat; it tells the brain that we are full,\u201d Dr. Katherine H. Saunders, a New York City physician, <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/05\/24\/ozempic-users-report-gross-side-effect-join-the-s-t-the-bed-club\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">told<\/a> the New York Post. \u201cIt helps people to feel less hungry, to feel full faster, and to stay full longer \u2014 but it does so when we are actually less full.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Other users have complained of the opposite effect: constipation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI haven\u2019t pooped in 2 weeks and 2 days,\u201d one user wrote on the Reddit thread. Another said they \u201ccouldn\u2019t go for the life of me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Angela Adams, a 47-year-old nurse in Florida, told Insider that she didn\u2019t have a bowel movement for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insider.com\/ozempic-wegovy-semaglutide-weight-loss-drug-side-effects-pooping-pants-2023-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">more than a week<\/a>. \u201cIt got to the point where it was kind of scary,\u201d the nurse said. \u201cMy stomach was hurting, I was in pain.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She took stool softeners and laxatives. Still nothing. \u201cYou just try to hit it from the top and hit from the bottom, and that\u2019s when you end up getting in trouble: At some point, it\u2019s gonna come out, and you don\u2019t have lot [sic] choice as to when it does,\u201d Adams said.<\/p>\n<p>Then she joined the \u201cs*** the bed\u201d club.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Eric Goldstein, a gastroenterologist in New York City, told Insider that the reports are likely overblown on social media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat this illustrates is any medication, even when used appropriately, may have other changes or side effects that need to be monitored by the patient and the doctor,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also said the sudden diarrhea may come after trying to correct constipation, dubbing it a \u201cdam-breaking phenomenon, which is what you\u2019d expect from taking a ton of laxatives.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Either way, one Ozempic user says they just don\u2019t take chances. \u201cMy advice to all is DO NOT I repeat DO NOT FIRE any WARNING SHOTS!!
