And it seems that Wall Street is starting to take notice.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Following backlash from the Right, retail giant <a href=\"http:\/\/dailywire.com\/topic\/target\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Target<\/a>\u00a0announced this week that it will remove some of its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/targets-stock-market-value-takes-6-billion-hit-since-backlash-over-pride-collection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LGBT Pride merchandise<\/a> aimed at both children and adults, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-tide-is-turning-prominent-christians-talk-effective-target-and-bud-light-boycotts\/\" title=\"Christians discuss effective boycotts against Target and Bud Light.\">including \u201ctuck-friendly\u201d women\u2019<\/a>s bathing suits, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/business\/2023\/05\/23\/target-pride-lgbtq\/9e84cb9c-f9b8-11ed-bafc-bf50205661da_story.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">designs<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> from a company that sells <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">satanic-themed<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> LGBTQ+<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> clothing. This backtracking comes amid a devastating boycott against beer brand Bud Light over that company\u2019s decision to team up with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/topic\/dylan-mulvaney\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dylan Mulvaney<\/a>, a 26-year-old transgender activist who pretends to be a \u201cgirl\u201d in online videos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>The Power of the Consumer<\/h3>\n<p>\u201cWe were sold a false bill of goods, that this was just gonna be kind of a live-and-let-live kind of libertarian approach to ordering our life together in society,\u201d says theologian and Christian Ethics Professor Andrew Walker. \u201cI think what we\u2019re seeing is this kind of the metastasizing, outworking, and growth of the sexual revolution just doing what it\u2019s naturally prone to do, which is to be all-consuming and to say that there are no limits whatsoever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Walker adds, \u201cI believe in something like the natural law that every single person has some type of access to a general moral knowledge, and I think that that moral knowledge tells us that preying on children, sexualizing children is beyond the boundaries of a decent society. I think we\u2019re seeing a reaction to that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Matt Fradd, Catholic apologist and host of the popular podcast \u201cPints with Aquinas,\u201d agrees. He says that any group promoting the LGBT movement \u201cought not be patronized if there be another alternative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd if you say, \u2018But everyone is promoting it,\u2019 then we should avoid those corporations who are especially promoting it,\u201d Fradd says. \u201cOur primary purpose in doing this is not to make them hurt financially, but to not participate in evil.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But the companies are feeling the squeeze. Bud Light\u2019s parent company, Anheuser-Busch <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">has reportedly lost nearly $16 billion in value since the backlash started last month. Target has <\/span>witnessed a $6 billion decrease in its market <a href=\"http:\/\/dailywire.com\/topic\/stock-market\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">capitalization<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/targets-stock-market-value-takes-6-billion-hit-since-backlash-over-pride-collection\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Daily Wire<\/a> reported Thursday.<\/p>\n<h3>Boycotts Continue<\/h3>\n<p>And the calls to boycott haven\u2019t stopped at Bud Light and Target. A Catholic bishop and popular podcast host named Bishop Robert Barron on Thursday called for a boycott of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The baseball team partnered with the highly controversial so-called \u201cSisters of Perpetual Indulgence,\u201d an LGBT group that mocks Catholics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFriends, it\u2019s hard to imagine anything more offensive than some of the behavior of the \u2018Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,\u2019 which I think can only be described as an anti-Catholic hate group,\u201d the bishop said via Twitter. \u201cYet the Los Angeles Dodgers have invited this group to be honored at their stadium. Anti-Catholicism is the last acceptable prejudice in America, and we shouldn\u2019t tolerate it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a big baseball fan,\u201d Bishop Barron added. \u201cI\u2019ve even thrown out the first pitch at a Dodgers game. But I\u2019d encourage my friends in LA to boycott the Dodgers.
