Kathy McCord was fired from Pendleton Heights High School after speaking out against the district\u2019s \u201cGender Support Plan,\u201d which involved concealing a student\u2019s new gender identity from their parents. McCord, who has spent 37 years in education, initially went along with the policy despite her qualms. However, she later felt compelled to speak out and sent an email to teachers informing them of a student\u2019s new gender identity. Days later, dozens of concerned parents and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/indiana-school-counselor-fired-for-speaking-out-about-school-gender-policy-files-federal-lawsuit\/\" title=\"Indiana counselor sues after being fired for criticizing school gender policy.\">community members showed<\/a> up at a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/maryland-school-district-announces-policy-to-push-anti-racist-thinking-in-preschool-redefine-discrimination-and-racism\/\" title=\"Maryland School District Announces Policy to Push \u2018Anti-Racist Thinking\u2019 In Preschool, Redefine \u2018Discrimination\u2019 and \u2018Racism\u2019\">school board meeting<\/a> to protest McCord\u2019s firing and the district\u2019s policy.<\/p>\n<h3>The Lawsuit<\/h3>\n<p>McCord filed a lawsuit in federal court last week, alleging that the school district violated her First Amendment rights by retaliating against her for voicing her disagreement with the district\u2019s policy. The lawsuit is being represented by the conservative legal group Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF).<\/p>\n<h3>Teacher Resigns Over Policy<\/h3>\n<p>McCord is not the only employee at Pendleton Heights High School to speak out against the district\u2019s policy.
