Lara Trump Fires: \u2018Glad You Finally Figured That Out\u2019\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jake-tapper-notes-hunter-biden-investigation-lara-trump-fires-glad-you-finally-figured-that-out\/\">federal criminal investigation<\/a> into former President Donald Trump\u2019s handling of classified information have issued a subpoena to obtain information about Trump\u2019s business dealings in seven foreign countries since he took office in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/05\/22\/us\/politics\/trump-records-foreign-deals.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Times reported<\/a> that <a title=\"Sidney Powell Is an American Legal Giant\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sidney-powell-is-an-american-legal-giant\/\">special counsel<\/a> Jack Smith issued the subpoena to the Trump Organization for its records related to its \u201clicensing and development dealings\u201d in China, France, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman.<\/p>\n<p>The report noted that while the Trump Organization did not do any foreign deals while Trump was in office, the former president did make a deal with a Saudi-based real estate company for a project in Oman just before he announced his third presidential campaign last fall.<\/p>\n<p>The subpoena sought records about Trump\u2019s dealings with the Saudi-owned golf league LIV Golf \u2014 which has held tournaments at some of Trump\u2019s <a title=\"Scottish Parliament Rejects Proposal to Investigate Trump\u2019s Finances\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/scottish-parliament-rejects-proposal-to-investigate-trumps-finances\/\">golf courses<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Notes from Trump\u2019s Lawyer Give Prosecutors Potential Window into His Thinking<\/h3>\n<p>CNN <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/05\/22\/politics\/trump-subpoena-classified-documents-mar-a-lago\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a> last week that prosecutors have obtained notes that Trump attorney Evan Corcoran took last spring in which the former president asked about pushing back on a subpoena that he received to turn over any classified materials that he had in his possession.<\/p>\n<p>The notes were taken before <a title=\"New findings in federal probe of Trump's handling of classified documents, reports say.\" href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-revelations-made-in-federal-criminal-investigation-into-trumps-handling-of-classified-docs-reports\/\">federal investigators met<\/a> with Trump\u2019s legal team and they said that they had turned over all classified information in the president\u2019s possession. Several weeks later, the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago and found more classified material at the residence.<\/p>\n<p>The significance of the notes from Trump\u2019s lawyer is that it gives prosecutors a potential window into Trump\u2019s thinking as he has offered \u201cshifting explanations\u201d for why he did not return all the classified material, the report said.<\/p>\n<h3>National Archives Prepared to Turn Over Records<\/h3>\n<p>Another recent development in the investigation happened last week when the National Archives <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/05\/17\/politics\/trump-letter-archives-special-counsel-declassification\/index.html\">informed<\/a> the special counsel that it is prepared to turn over 16 records that allegedly showed that Trump and his top advisers had knowledge of the process that Trump would have to go through to declassify information while he was president.
